Engineering services firm Art Anderson Associates has been awarded a five-year blanket purchase agreement for naval architecture and engineering design services for oceanographic and fisheries research ships and small vessels operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office of Marine Operations (OMAO) in the Atlantic, Pacific and Pacific Islands. This agreement will allow NOAA to contract with Art Anderson Associates for all phases of marine design and naval architecture, including specifications and drawings, analysis, feasibility studies, lifecycle management and operational engineering for NOAA vessels.

For more than 30 years, Art Anderson Associates has provided naval architecture and marine engineering services for hundreds of assignments in support of the NOAA fleet of federal research vessels.

“We are very happy to continue our services to the NOAA fleet, something we’ve excelled at for over three decades. NOAA is, and will continue to be, one of our most valued clients,” said Ben Anderson, Art Anderson Associates’ president and CEO. “This is a true testament to the great engineers on our team.”

OMAO is responsible for the long range/short term program planning, logistic support, maintenance and operation of a fleet of specialized ships, small boats and aircraft to perform a wide variety of environmental and scientific missions. The two OMAO Marine Operations Center, located in Norfolk, Va. and Newport, Ore., and their Marine Operations Engineering groups provide the primary support for the NOAA ships and small boats which operate out of their homeports located along the east and west coasts, Gulf of Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii.
