Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

December 6, 1999

Atlantic Marine, Jacksonville, Fla., has been chosen by Lockheed Martin Launching System to construct a SWATH Oceanographic Research Vessel as part of the Navy's scientific fleet. The project, which will commence in August 2000, will take approximately 14 months. Designated AGOR-26, the vessel will house small-waterplane-area, twin-hull design (SWATH) technology developed by Lockheed Martin, and will offer a stable platform with excellent motion characteristics and more useable deck space. Guido Perla and Associates of Seattle has signed a long-term domestic and international teaming agreement with Lockheed Martin to provide complete design and detail modular construction engineering for commercial and U.S. development of Lockheed's stealth SWATH.
