U.K. based marine services company the Briggs Group announced it has acquired a consortium of three marine companies in Canada: Foreshore Technologies, Balanced Environmental and Ocean Tech. The three companies are based in North Vancouver, B.C. and have been trading for 25 years.

Foreshore Technologies Inc. is an underwater survey and inspection company that specializes in diving, environmental survey, structural survey and marine operations, utilizing innovative equipment and platforms for a broad range of clients.

Balanced Environmental Services Inc. is an expert in permitting, licensing, consultation, applications, planning and project delivery.

Ocean Tech Constructors Inc. is a harbor support company that specialize in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of floats, gangways, pontoons and breakwaters.

Briggs has been looking to expand into the Canadian market for some time. While conducting a project in British Columbia, the management team became aware of the Foreshore Group of businesses and were impressed with their passion, innovation and quality in the marine sector.

Craig English, Operations Director of Subsea Services at Briggs, said, “We are excited by the purchase of the Foreshore Group of companies as their understanding, knowledge, skill, passion and commitment to their clients are traits that align closely with our own.  We look forward to working beside our Canadian colleagues in growing this well-established business and continuing Briggs’ maritime adventure into the next phase.”

Scott Christie, President at Foreshore Technologies Inc, said, “Briggs Marine has a great ethos, outstanding people, an innovative and diversified service offering. We believe that this acquisition can establish a stronger platform for us to take on larger and more high-profile projects in Canada and the United States."
