Weeks Marine Wins Navy Contract

Weeks Marine, Inc., Cranford, N.J., is being awarded a $22,008,984 (first increment) firm-fixed-price contract for pier replacement at the waterfront area, Leonardo Section, Naval Weapons Station Earle. The work to be performed provides for the construction of a berthing/weapons loading pier and associated trestle and the demolition of two existing piers. This contract will be incrementally funded with the initial funding today, the second increment at $44,101,089 will be awarded in fiscal year 2005, and the final increment of $56,856,927 will be awarded in Fiscal Year 2006, bringing the total cumulative value to $122,967,000. Work will be performed in Colts Neck, N.J., and is expected to be completed by June 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the NAVFAC e-solicitation website, with nine offers received. The Engineering Field Activity Northeast, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Lester, Pa., is the contracting activity (N62472-02-C-0018).
