Shipping Corporation of India Turns Black in Q3

 Shipping Corporation of India reported net profit of Rs 31.35 crore ($5.2 milion) in Q3 December 2014 as compared with net loss of Rs 65.67 crore ($10.94 mln) in Q3 December 2013.  

Sales declined 1.48% to Rs 983.33 crore in the quarter ended December 2014 as against Rs 998.11 crore during the previous quarter ended December 2013.
 
The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.75%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.46% and 15.79% respectively. 
 
SCI is the only Indian shipping company operating break-bulk service, international container service, liquid / dry bulk service, offshore service, passenger service, in addition to manning / managing a large number of vessels on behalf of various government departments and organizations.
