Delivery marks 20th rig completion by Keppel FELS in 2013.

Keppel FELS Ltd. (Keppel FELS) has delivered ENSCO 121, the second ultra-premium harsh environment ENSCO 120 Series jackup rig, to Ensco plc (Ensco). Built to an enhanced version of Keppel’s proprietary KFELS Super A Class design, the rig has been chartered for deployment in the North Sea.

Wong Kok Seng, Managing Director (Offshore) of Keppel Offshore & Marine and Managing Director of Keppel FELS, said, “We are pleased to deliver ENSCO 121, our 18th newbuild rig for Ensco and our 20th for this year 2013. Over the years, we have established a strong and long standing relationship with Ensco based on mutual trust and understanding. We are committed to continue to support Ensco in growing its fleet and delivering all our projects for Ensco to their highest satisfaction.”

Capable of operating in water depths of up to 400 feet, ENSCO 121 is the second of four in the ENSCO 120 series of rigs that Keppel FELS is building for Ensco. Featuring Keppel’s proprietary and superior jacking and fixation system, the KFELS Super A Class jackup design can operate in a variety of environments. The rig is designed to drill to depths of 40,000 feet for the most demanding large multi-well platform programs, ultra-deep gas programmes and ultra-long reach wells.

The third rig in the series, ENSCO 122, is expected to be delivered mid 2014 and has been contracted for multiyear terms in the North Sea. The fourth rig, ENSCO 123, is expected to be delivered by Keppel FELS in 2Q 2016.

Keppel FELS has delivered the first ENSCO 120 Series jackup, ENSCO 120, earlier this year. The rig is currently operating in the North Sea.
