Siem Offshore Order Duel-Fuelled PSV's
Norway-based Siem Offshore has contracted Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. in Poland to build four dual-fuelled Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs).
The vessels are to be of VS 4411 DF design, and Siem Offshore say that they currently have two vessels of similar design under construction for delivery in 2014 and 2015.
The new PSV's will be equipped with dual-fuel LNG or Marine Diesel Oil (MDO) systems which Siem Offshore claim to represent the latest technology of dual fuelled systems and hull design,giving benefits of lower fuel consumption, lower fuel cost, lower emissions and a better environment.
Siem Offshore add that the vessels are to be 89 meters in LOA, a beam of 19 meters, a deck area of 970 m.sq. and with a capacity of 5,500 dwt equipped with a high power supply and able to offer good station keeping and the highest redundancy. They are to be built to meet the highest requirements for operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf while also being suited for operations in other geographical areas.
In addition to ordinary class notations for PSVs, the vessels are to be built with equipment and class notations for Fire Fighting (Fi-Fi II), Oil Spill Recovery in Emergency Situations (Oilrec) and according to NOFO guidelines, Rescue and Standby Services to Offshore Installations (Standby Vessel) for up to 300 persons, and Safe Hose Operation System (SHOS).
The vessels are also to be built in accordance with Clean Design and Comfort Class criteria and prepared for a second fast rescue craft (FRC).
Deliveries are scheduled from third quarter 2015 to second quarter 2016.
