Thrane & Thrane – a Cobham plc company – to supply SAILOR FleetBroadband terminals to ships managed by Thome.

Thome Ship Management is an international shipping service supplier that manages a diverse fleet in excess of 180 vessels, under a new frame agreement facilitated by AND Group plc.

Through this agreement, a combination of SAILOR 250 FleetBroadband and the flagship SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband bundled with airtime packages will be delivered to vessels managed by Thome. With well over 25,000 SAILOR FleetBroadband terminal’s delivered to date, Thrane & Thrane’s established system is claimed to be a FleetBroadband terminal market leader.

Both the SAILOR 250 FleetBroadband and SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband feature the new Enhanced Inmarsat Multi-voice service, so in addition to reliable data connectivity for email, file transfer, fax, internet, VPN and efficiency enhancing IP applications, they also offer up to nine simultaneous voice lines. Uniquely, the Multi-voice service is available on all SAILOR FleetBroadband terminals without the need to add an external IPPBX.

“This project involves a large number of vessels from different ship owners, so we need to be sure that the system we have chosen is easy to install and offers a good balance between cost and performance. SAILOR FleetBroadband clearly offers this so we are more than happy to put these incredibly reliable terminals on vessels under our management,” comments Ryan Dalgado, Procurement & Supply Chain Manager, Thome Ship Management.
