IMCA Holds Fundraiser for World Maritime University

A grand total of $5,014 was raised for the World Maritime University (WMU) when the International Marine Contractors Association Ball (IMCA) held its annual midsummer charity ball at Fyvie Castle in Aberdeenshire.

The students who graduated in 2006 brought the total of WMU graduates to almost 2,300 from 151 countries around the world. About 39% are from Asia, 29% from Africa; 13% from Latin America and the Caribbean, 13% from the Middle East & North Africa; and 6% from Europe and North America.

During the course of the Midsummer Ball, IMCA’s President, Knut Boe of Technip presented his predecessor Frits Janmaat of the Allseas Group, with a framed picture as a memento and in recognition of his valued contribution as IMCA President during 2005 and 2006.
