North East Asia Geared for Growth

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

April 13, 2011

The new role of Harald Lundestad as General Manager for Wilhelmsen Ships Service in Taiwan, will give impetus to the expansion of the company’s business in the region, which is capitalising on the 10% GDP growth enjoyed by Taiwan in 2010, and the current rapid expansion of Taipei and Kaohsiung ports.

Based at the company’s Taipei office, Harald will play an instrumental role in the future development and growth of Wilhelmsen Ships Service in Taiwan. He comments, ”My key target is to significantly increase sales to Taiwanese customers. Wilhelmsen Ships Service has seen strong sales growth the last year, but the potential is still great as Taiwanese ship owners increasingly see the value of buying from our company because of the efficiencies that our global network can deliver.”

He adds, “The outlook for growth within the shipping industry in Taiwan is good, especially for companies like Wilhelmsen Ships Service which is delivering products and services to the ships calling at Taiwanese ports. We will continue to improve and expand our services to increase our share of the business in Taiwan.”

Harald has been with the Wilh. Wilhelmsen Group for eleven years, most recently based in Shanghai as Operations and Business Improvement Manager for North East Asia. He holds an MSc in Industrial Economics and Technology Management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Wilhelmsen Ships Service supplies regulatory products and services, Unitor marine products, Nalfleet marine chemicals, maritime logistics and ships agency.
