Intermarine, LLC, a transporter of project, breakbulk and heavy lift cargo, has established a physical presence in Turkey with the opening of an office in Istanbul.

The new branch will operate as part of the company’s Worldwide division, offering identical breakbulk, heavy-lift cargo chartering services to the company’s existing trade lanes. In addition to the Caspian Sea, the location will provide service to the Persian Gulf, Far East, Americas; and West and South Africa. This office will also work with Intermarine’s Denmark and Dubai locations to bolster the company’s strength in Europe, the Mediterranean and the Middle East.

“The combination of Intermarine’s service offerings coupled with the location of the office will provide our clients in Turkey and the Mediterranean with tailor made solutions and a more complete services offering, said Al Stanley, President and CEO of Intermarine. “Daghan and team will now provide our local customers with direct Intermarine service and support.”

The office will be led by Managing Director, Daghan Engin, who joined Intermarine’s Naestved, Denmark, location as a Chartering Manager in 2012. Engin has 12 years of experience in the international freight market, with six years dedicated specifically to project and heavy lift cargoes. Engin will work with the support of Chartering Manager, Sertac Sari.

“Turkey is full of opportunity and has been a growing market for us,” said Ask M. Munck, Managing Director, Worldwide Chartering Services. “I look toward the future with full confidence that our staff will take the opening of this office as an opportunity to strengthen our presence in Turkey.”
