Jawaharlal Nehru Port Charges To Increase

A 12% increase in marine related charges, a 40% increase in bulk and cargo related charges and a marginal higher increase on certain  miscellaneous tariff items will come into effect on 18 June at for Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT).

As the revised rate will come into effect from midnight on 17 June, all vessels berthed up to 2400 hours on 17 June shall attract port  dues and pilotage at old rates, and for berth hire beyond 2400 hours on 17 June, new rates will apply as they are charged on an hourly basis.

If a vessel arrives on 15 or 16 June and stays beyond 17 June, berth hire for actual number of hours up to 2400 hours on 17 June will be levied at old rate and thereafter at new rates.

Similarly, in respect of container handling activities performed, all vessels which arrive up to 17 June and stay beyond 17 June will be charged at old rates for import cycle and revised rates for export cycle. Vessels which arrive on or after 18 June will be charged at revised rate for both import and export cycles.

For dwell time charges, for dwelling period up to 2400 hours on 17 June, old rates will apply and for the period beyond 17 June, new rates will apply.
