Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

April 11, 2005

Thrane & Thrane now launches its new VHF radio - the SailorRT5022 - that offers users a number of new and attractive features. The Sailor RT5022 replaces the Sailor RT4822 and builds on the Sailor brand's strong reputation as a reliable and powerful VHF designed for the harsh environment at sea. The new Sailor RT5022 has built-in DSC (Digital Selective Calling) Class A, a number of new features as well as a new design that will ease the use of the VHF onboard vessels. Among other things, the Sailor RT5022 has a replay feature that allows the operator to repeat an incoming message in case the operator did not understand the message in the first instance. In situations where safety may be at stake, the replay function can be very helpful. The design of the Sailor RT5022 has been simplified and the functionalities most often used are operated by large tactile buttons and knobs and a large separate display. The Sailor RT5022 offers all the features that can be expected by any line VHF.
