Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

September 3, 2014

Zamakona Yards in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, are conducting together with the group Nicol & Andrew an “in situ” machining of the crankshaft of a main engine Bergen. Specifically we are machining the four supports of the crankshaft (main journals) 1mm undersize.

The group Nicol & Andrew is the pioneer of this technology that requires craftsmanship with practice and experience.

Zamakona Yards, as an authorized service, is the only one capable of performing it in the Canary Islands and around the world, only a few companies are enabled to do so.
