Pacific Gulf Awarded Management Contracts

Pacific-Gulf Marine (POM) has been granted a trio of five-year contracts totaling $31 million for the management of eight ships for the U.S. Maritime Administration (MarAd). Of the eight ships, five are out ported in the Beaumont/Houston area while the other three are located in Alameda, Calif. The ships are part of MarAd's fleet of 74 vessels that currently encompass the Ready Reserve Force (RRF) Program. Composed of military useful vessels maintained by commercial operators in a high state of readiness, they can be activated from anywhere between four and 30 days of notice from the Defense Department.
