Hurricane Katrina Incident Management Site

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

August 29, 2005

The U.S. Coast Guard established an Internet site – USCGStormWatch – for the purpose of rapidly disseminating information to the marine community regarding Hurricane Katrina. This is a major hurricane, making landfall in Louisiana at this time (Monday morning, August 29), with the potential to cause significant damage. Mariners in or near the projected path of Hurricane Katrina were urged to make preparations early and to exercise extreme caution. Guidance may be found at the USCG Sector New Orleans Maritime Hurricane Contingency Port Plan, among other documents. Pray for the safety of our many friends in the path of this powerful storm.
