AMI Helps Long Island Maritime Firms Collect 'Sandy' Cash
The Association of Marine Industries (A.M.I.) says it is actively helping Long Island marine based companies recover lost revenue from Hurricane Sandy through NY Rising, a designated New York State funding program. The A.M.I. is making a strong push to ensure that NY Marine based companies are aware of the program as a large number of grants are still available.
New York State is in the process of delivering disaster recovery funding to small businesses, with additional priority being given to coastal industry businesses, which include marine based companies. Individual companies that sustained damage or experienced prolonged power outages from the Hurricane can receive up to $250,000 in relief grant funds.
“The AMI is acting as a resource to Long Island marine business owners to ensure they have access to these grants and that they are submitted to the state in accordance with the regulations of the program.” Said Eric Kreuter, President of the A.M.I.
“As with any state program there are limited funds to be given out and we want to make sure Long island Marine Business owners are able to submit their application in a timely manner.”
