BW Offshore's FPSO to Stay in Nigeria for One More Year

Norwegian floating oil and gas production systems owner BW Offshore has secured a one-year contract extension in Nigeria for one of its FPSOs.The contract, with Addax Petroleum Exploration (Nigeria) Ltd, is for the lease and operation of the FPSO Sendje Berge. The firm period has been extended to Q4 2022, BW Offshore, which owns a fleet of 14 floaters, said.According to WorldEnergyReports FPSO Database, the Sendje Berge is a spread-moored FPSO used for production at the Okwori field in Nigeria on a contract with Addax/Sinopec.The vessel caught media attention in July last year after pirates attacked it and kidnapped nine Nigerian crew members. A month after the incident, BW Offshore said that the workers had been safely released.

IOCs Stress on OSV Fuel Management Performance

Growing insistence by international oil companies (IOCs) that oilfield contract vessels (OSVs) are fitted with fuel monitoring systems has prompted an upsurge in interest in marine engine monitoring systems. Diesel power specialist Royston reports that it is equipping a growing number of offshore vessels with its enginei fuel management system as the oil majors increasingly require the availability of accurate on-board fuel monitoring data as part of the support contracts awarded to shipping companies. Around the world, enginei is now installed on nine vessels working for Chevron, two for BP, one for Addax Petroleum, four for Total, two for Conoco Phillips and one for Exxon.

Sea Trucks Bags Another Installation Contract

C has been awarded a second installation contract for a development in Nigeria to West African Ventures, Sea Trucks’ principle Nigerian business. The newest contract is further to Sea Trucks’ announcement made last week whichdeclared a contract from Afren for subsea installation of 60 km pipeline, PLEM, flexible riser and spool pieces as well as transportation and installation of jacket, piles, bridges and topside, ranging between 240 t and 480 t. BW Offshore Extend FPSO Nigerian Contracts

BW Offshore has agreed an extension for their FPSO's 'Abo' and ''. The extension for Abo is with Nigerian Agip Exploration Ltd of nine months. and for Sendje Berge with Addax Petroleum Exploration Ltd of three months. Nigerian Offshore Equipment Facility Taking Shape

Kaztec Engineering announced that construction of its Phase 1 Lagos factory is now underway. Kaztec, a subsidiary of the Chrome Group a leading West African oil and gas conglomerate, intend to fabricate drilling and production platforms and other specialized structures for the oil and gas industry at the new plant. Following the completion of the first phase, Kaztec expects to commence development of a second phase of the fabrication yard, which is expected to be completed by mid- to late-2014. Snake Island Integrated Free Zone is an industrial free zone facility and port development strategically located in the coastal waterways of Lagos, with immediate access to the open seas. Addax Petroleum Limited is a technical partner in Kaztec's fabrication yard project.

Maersk Drilling Secures Offshore West Africa Contract

Jack-up rig 'Maersk Endurer' contracted for 2-year drill off Cameroon, adding about US$ 100-million to Maersk Drilling's contract backlog. Maersk Drilling expands its activities in West Africa with the signing of a contract for the jack-up Maersk Endurer with Addax Petroleum, owned by Sinopec, which is one of the largest oil and gas producers in the world. The contract duration is two years and the value is around USD 100 million. Cecon Completes Installation Offshore Nigeria

End March Cecon has completed the installation of four flexible pipelines and umbilical’s for Broron Oil & Gas/Addax Petroleum in waters offshore Nigeria, West Africa. The project was  initially awarded (Oct 2011) to Cecon ASA as a fast-track subsea tieback project for the management, transport, installation and tie-ins of two flexible pipelines and two umbilicals between two wells in 130 m water depth and the Okwori FPSO. Jurong Completes FPSO Upgrade

Singapore’s Jurong Shipyard Ltd (JSL) has announced that the upgrading of the FPSO Sendje Berge was completed on December 7. Measuring 349 m x 52 m x 27 m, the 274,000 dwt FPSO Sendje Berge underwent major upgrading and installation works to boost her production and storage capabilities. Life extension works were also carried out to extend the FPSO vessel’s life for an additional four to eight years without drydocking. The FPSO upgrading is the Sendje Berge’s second operation at Jurong Shipyard, following the vessel’s successful conversion from VLCC Berge Charlotte in 2000. On delivery, the FPSO Sendje Berge will be on chartered to leading oil and energy company Addax Petroleum, a subsidiary of Addax & Oryx Group, for exploration and development works in the Okwori Field, offshore Nigeria.
