Aker Build Two for Maersk

Maersk AS has announced that they will exercise the option with Aker Yards to build another two Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels (AHTS). The two vessels will be sister vessels to the eight Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels ordered by AP. Moller - Maersk AS in March 2006. The series of AHTS vessels is of Vik & Sandvik design, VS 472. Deliveries are scheduled for 3rd and 4th quarter 2009 from Aker Yards in Norway. The vessels are of approx. 73.2 m length..

Great Ships of 2001 -- Skandi Carla

Norway's west coast maritime cluster has again demonstrated its technological skills and business verve through the delivery of a complex, diesel-electric offshore support vessel equipped to carry out deepwater subsea inspection and construction tasks. Ordered from Aukra Industrier by local operator District Offshore (DOF), the 275-ft. (84-m) Skandi Carla ranks among the world's most sophisticated ships designed for ROV(remote-operated vehicle) deployment. The powerful, dynamic-positioning vessel entered an immediate five-year charter assignment to Aberdeen-based survey specialist Fugro-UDI, to whose requirements she has been customized.

Aker Yards to Build Platform Supply Vessels for The Great Eastern Shipping Co.

Aker Brattvaag, a company in the Aker Yards Group, has signed a contract with The Great Eastern Shipping Co, Mumbai, India, for the building of two Platform Supply Vessels. The contract is worth approximately NOK 230 million. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in June/July 2006 and August/September 2006, or 2007. The vessels have the designation UT 755 L, an extended version of the well-respected UT 755 design by Rolls-Royce, which will also be a major supplier of equipment to the project. Aker Yards has in total built 52 various versions of the UT 755 design and has another 8 on order. An identical vessel was delivered from Aker Brattvaag to The Great Eastern Shipping Co. in August this year, and three more vessels have earlier been delivered to the same owner by Aker Yards.

Aker Yards to build ROV Support Vessel

Aker Yards has entered into a contract with GEO ASA for the building of an ROV Support Vessel. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 400 million. The vessel will be built by Aker Yards in Brazil, with delivery scheduled for May 2008, and is of the design Aker ROV 06, designed by Aker Yards Project. The vessel is of 106 meters length x 21 meters breadth, accommodation for 100 persons, equipped with a 140 tonnes offshore crane, and will have DP Class 2.

Aker Yards to Build Two AHTS

Aker Yards has entered into a contract with an International Shipping Company, for building of two Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels of Aker Yards AH 12 design. The two vessels are scheduled for delivery in Q4 2010 and Q2 2011. The hull for the vessels will be built at Aker Yards in Romania and outfitted at Aker Yards in Norway. "This is an historic day for Aker Yards, both given the magnitude of the order and the type of vessel. We are proud to be given the opportunity to design and build the most powerful sister vessels in Aker Yards' history". The vessels will be equipped with a hybrid propulsion solution and will have a bollard pull in excess of 350 tons.

Aker Yards Signs Contract with “K” Line for Offshore Vessels

Aker Yards has signed a contract with "K" Line Offshore AS for building of four Platform Supply Vessels of Aker Yards design. The total value of this contract is approximately $258.8m. Delivery of the four Platform Supply Vessels is scheduled between fourth quarter of 2010 and third quarter of 2011. "K" Line is one of the world's largest ship owners/operators, mainly focusing on Container, Car Carriers, Bulk, LNG and Tankers. "K" Line will now enter into the offshore market and this order on four PSV`s will together with the order for two Anchor Handlers of Aker AH 12 design earlier this autumn make a solid platform for this entrance.

Aker to Build Anchor Handling Supply Vessel

Aker Yards has entered into a contract with DOF Installer ASA based on the options given in the contract between the parties of March 5, 2007. This is the first of two possible options in the connection of the previous contract for building of 2 + 2 AHTS vessels. The value of this contract is approximately $130m. The vessel is an Anchor Handling Supply Vessel based on the Aker Yards design AH 04 CD. Delivery is scheduled in Q4 2010. The vessel will have a bollard pull in excess of 350 tons, and will be outfitted with a triple drum winch of 500 tons. Accommodation is planned for 90 persons. The hull for the vessel will be built at Aker Yards, Tulcea in Romania and outfitted at Aker Yards in Norway. In the past DOF has been involved in more than 30 contracts with Aker Yards.

Deepwater Drillship Package Order for Aker

Aker Solutions to supply a complete drilling equipment package for a deepwater drillship Jurong Shipyard is building for the Brazilian market. On 25 August 2012 Aker Solutions announced a contract to supply six drilling equipment packages to Jurong Shipyard. The contract included an option for an additional drilling package, which the customer now has exercised. The contract includes complete topside and subsea equipment (drilling riser and blow-out preventer) and its value has not been disclosed. he equipment will be delivered from Aker Solutions in Norway, Germany and Brazil. Aker Solutions is building a new $100m service and manufacturing facility in Macaé, Brazil's offshore capital, in order to meet expected growth.

Aker Yards Secures Contracts for Diving Support Vessels

Aker Yards ASA said it won an order from DOF ASA for a diving support vessel (DSV), and a contract from DOFCON ASA and Technip for a second DSV. For DOF, Aker Yards will build a DSV based on Aker Yards' Aker DSV06 design, while the other DSV will be to the Aker OSCV-06L DSV design. Source: Forbes

Wärtsilä Powers 5 Aker Yards Vessels

Wärtsilä has signed major contracts with Aker Yards AS Søviknes and Aker Yards AS Trading - the recently established project development arms of the Aker Yards Group - for the supply of propulsion equipment for five offshore vessel projects being built in Norway, India and Brazil. The orders cover the supply of a total of 15 Wärtsilä engines, as well as power generation, automation, and other ancillary equipment. For the Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) being built at the Aker Yards facility in Söviknes, Norway, Wärtsilä will supply three 6-cylinder Wärtsilä 34DF engines.

Aker Yards to Build Two More PSVs

Nordcapital Holding in Hamburg, Germany and Aker Yards announced an agreement to build another two Platform Supply Vessels (PSV's) of the type UT 755 LN. The two vessels are scheduled for delivery in December 2008 and March 2009, and will be built at Aker Yards, Aukra in Norway. The value of the contract is approximately $45.7m. Including the new orders Nordcapital will receive eight sister vessels altogether from Aker Yards between October 2007 and March 2009. All ships are fitted with advanced DP1 and FiFi1 systems.

Aker Yards to Build Ships for Maritima

Aker Yards ASA will build two bunkering tankers worth about $25.7m for Maritima, which is owned by Compagnie Fluviale de Transport (CFT), a French company providing European river transport and specializing in bunkering for ocean-going vessels. The vessels will be built at Aker Yards in Braila, Romania, with delivery in March and June 2008. They are similar to those delivered by Aker Yards to Maritima in 2005 and 2006. (Source: Forbes)

Aker Yards to Build DSVs

Aker Yards has entered into a contract with DOF ASA for the building of one Diving Support Vessel (DSV), and a contract with DOFCON and Technip for a second DSV. Aker Yards is to build a 106 m Diving Support Vessel for DOF, based on an Aker Yards design; Aker DSV06. The Vessel is scheduled for delivery from Aker Yards, Søviknes in the spring of 2007. The Vessel occupies a construction slot originally designated for a large PSV, the delivery of which has been delayed to 2008. It will be mostly dedicated to the UK sector of the North Sea. The vessel will be equipped with a 150T crane and all equipment necessary to support both IRM and subsea construction projects in the most challenging environments of the North Sea.

Aker Kvaerner Awarded Mooring Systems Contracts

Aker Kvaerner has recently been awarded contracts for the delivery of advanced mooring systems with a total contract value of $29.5m. The contracts comprise deliveries both to the offshore and marine industry. The work is undertaken by the Aker Kvaerner subsidiary Aker Kvaerner Pusnes in Arendal. The awards include delivery to the two advanced Aker Drilling H6e semi-submersible rigs to be built at Aker Kvaerner Stord and to five deepwater semi-submersible rigs to be built at Jurong's shipyard in Singapore. Manufacturing of the equipment will take place in Europe and Asia. The delivery dates are scheduled from 2007 to 2009.

OSG to Build More Tankers

Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. (OSG), signed an agreement in principle pursuant to which Aker Philadelphia Shipyard, a subsidiary of Aker American Shipping ASA, will build up to six additional Veteran Class MT-46 Jones Act Product Tankers (three fixed plus three options). Corporation, OSG will bareboat charter the vessels for initial terms of 10 to 15 years. The agreement in principle is subject to, among other conditions, approval by the Boards of Directors of OSG and Aker American Shipping, preparation and agreement of final documentation and relevant government approvals. between OSG and BP for one more of the 46,000 dwt Jones Act commercial product tankers being built at Aker Philadelphia Shipyard.

BP Extending Agreement with Aker Kvaerner

BP Limited UK has extended a three year frame agreement with Aker Kvaerner, for the supply of steel tube umbilicals, by a further two years to 2007. Aker Kvaerner Subsea will continue to provide project management, engineering and manufacturing of steel tube umbilicals. The steel tube umbilicals are manufactured at Aker Kvaerner Subsea's purpose-built facility in Moss, Norway. Under the existing frame agreement Aker Kvaerner has supplied steel tube umbilicals for the Rhum, Farragon and Azeri Chirag Gunashli projects in the UK and Azerbaijan.

AKER FINNYARDS

Based in Rauma, Aker Finnyards recent history is indicative of the changes, which continue to sweep the Finnish maritime scene. Finnyards is owned 100 percent by Norwegian interests, part of Aker Yards, an international shipbuilding group comprising Aker Finnyards together with a German and two Norwegian shipyard groups. Aker Yards is owned by Aker RGI. Aker Finnyards' main activities are construction of specialized ships, vessels for oil and gas production and heavy offshore structures. While the shipyard's reign under Norwegian rule is relatively short, its experience and accrued expertise spans many decades and includes more than 1,500 ships built — both long series and extremely demanding one-offs.

Aker Yards to Build Construction Vessel

Aker Yards has entered into a contract with Farstad Shipping ASA for the building of one Construction Vessel with a value of approx $135m. Aker Yards, Langsten is to build a 398 x 85 ft. construction vessel for Farstad, based on the Rolls-Royce design; UT 761 CD. The Vessel is scheduled for delivery from Aker Yards, Langsten in the fourth quarter of 2008. The vessel will after delivery enter into a long term charter with Saipem UK Ltd. The vessel is specially designed for plough duties in connection with pipe laying of oil and gas pipes offshore. The vessel will have a Bollard Pull of more then 350 tons, and all equipment necessary to support the most challenging operations and environments world wide.

Aker American Shipping Raises $80m

Aker unit Aker American Shipping said it has raised gross proceeds of $80m via a book-building exercise in subsidiary Aker Philadelphia Shipyard. The proceeds will be used to fund the group's shipbuilding program, it said. Aker American Shipping has a flexible option agreement for 13 vessels, and it said this will 'provide the platform for ambitious growth plans in the future'.

The value of the contract for the fourth vessel is approximately $142m. The vessel is a declaration of an option announced on the contract announced in first quarter of 2007 for building of 2 + 2 AHTS vessels. The vessel is an Anchor Handling Supply Vessel based on the Aker Yards design AH 04 CD. Delivery is scheduled in first half of 2011. The vessel will have a bollard pull in excess of 300 tons, and will be outfitted with a triple drum winch of 500 tons. Accommodation is planned for 90 people. The hull for the vessel will be built at Aker Yards in Romania and it will be outfitted at Aker Yards in Norway.
