Established in 1984 as a company dedicated to engineering marine motors, Armor Mécanique is situated in the port of Lorient. And while the coastal view remained picturesque, the ensuing years brought change. The company, founded by Marcel Février, is now dedicated to precision engineering and boilermaking. In 2005, upon Février’s retirement, experienced precision engineer Franck Vincent took on management of the company. Upon taking up the reins of Armor Mécanique, Vincent found that he had quite a lot on his plate.
Keppel FELS Deliver Shallow Water Jackup Rig
Keppel FELS delivers the jackup rig 'UMW Naga 4' to UMW Oil & Gas Corporation in Singapore. The rig was completed five days ahead of schedule, on budget and with a perfect safety record. UMW Naga 4 is the fourth consecutive rig that Keppel FELS has delivered ahead of schedule this year. UMW Naga 4 is built to Keppel’s proprietary KFELS B Class design which is today the industry standard for modern jackup rigs. With another 16 KFELS B Class/Super B Class rigs on order, it reflects the strong market demand for the design.

1938- Congress passed HR 8982, an amendment to the Alien Fishing Act (50 Stat. 639). The amendment clarified the earlier laws on salmon fishing in Alaskan waters by limiting commercial salmon fishing in the vicinity of Bristol Bay, Alaska, to U.S. citizens only. The act was enforced by the Coast Guard. 1942- A Coast Guard aircraft directed a Royal Navy trawler to a life boat with 24 survivors off the coast of North Carolina. 1952- The breakup of ice in the Missouri River and its tributaries at Bismarck, North Dakota, and above, and on the Big Sioux, created the worst flood conditions in that area in thirty years. U.S. Coast Guard personnel rendered assistance in that major disaster…
