Marcon Sells 3,900BHP Tug Overseas

Marcon International, Inc. of Coupeville, Washington announced the sale of the 3,900BHP, U.S. flag twin screw tug Maria Brusco (ex-Ocean Service) from a U.S. owner to private overseas buyers for transfer to registry under foreign flag. The 127’ x 32’ x 14’ depth tug was originally built in 1967 by Burton Shipyard Inc. in Port Arthur, Texas as Hull 404 for International Bulk Transport of Wilmington, Delaware and operated for Sonat Marine of Philadelphia towing petroleum barges coastwise. The tug underwent a major reconstruction in 1987 under her previous ownership.

Time Charter of DP-1 Research Vessel Fixed

Marcon International, Inc. of Coupeville, Washington reported that Stabbert Maritime of Seattle has time chartered the U.S. flag, DP-1, research vessel Ocean Pioneer (ex: Seabulk Montana, Montana, Seabulk Montana, Indian Seal) to FMC Technology of Davis, California. The 205' x 40' x 17' depth vessel was built in 1974 by Burton Shipyard in Port Arthur, Texas for Seal Fleet of Galveston, Texas and acquired by Hvide Marine, Inc. in 1996, along with seven other offshore supply boats. Hvide reorganized in 2001 and was renamed Seabulk International.

Marcon Reports Sale of Tugs and Barges

After the earlier sale of the U.S. tank barges "B No. 120" and "B No. Inc. additional large tank barges and three ocean-going tugs. in West Africa. scattered across North and Central America and obtaining U.S. Administration approval for sales of the U.S. abroad. The 143', 3,280BHP twin screw tug "Mr. Seattle. "Mr. Inc. of Port Arthur, Texas. twin 96" x 54" fixed pitch props in 1964. for many years in the U.S. Gulf Coast "oil patch". a number of years. operations. renamed "Mnemosyne"). respectively and retired in January 2005 due to OPA'90 regulations. While in U.S. petroleum service with a capacity of abt. 95,581bbl. ballast, using the U.S. both built in 1987 and owned by Capt. Green Cove Springs, Florida. 5,100BHP and 72 tons of bollard pull.
