Teledyne Acquires ChartWorld International
Teledyne Technologies Incorporated announced today that it has acquired ChartWorld International Limited and affiliates. ChartWorld, headquartered in Cyprus, with additional locations in Hamburg, Singapore, Vancouver and Tokyo, is a provider of digital marine navigation hardware and software provided through a subscription-based model. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.Commercial maritime subscribers to ChartWorldâs software as a service (SaaS) receive free type-approved Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS), a lifetime warranty and global 24/7 support.
ChartWorld Updates MyRA Routing Service
ChartWorld announced the latest round of updates to its digital routing service, My Route Appraisal (MyRA). MyRA provides both vessels and onshore personnel with a proposed ECDIS-ready voyage plan. ChartWorld âPay as You Sailâ Service Approved
Following comprehensive trials, Det Norske Veritas (DNV) has approved ChartWorld GmbHâs âPay as You Sailâ (PAYS) service to PRIMAR RENC guidelines. The new service, which does not require any additional hardware onboard, makes use of the existing navigation and communications infrastructure that is already installed on most SOLAS vessels, combined with the established FleetTracker service from Jan Herberg Engineering, to meet PRIMAR tracking and reporting requirements for PAYS. The new service will be officially launched in the first quarter of the New Year.
