Hatteland Wins USCG Contract

On October 5th, 2008, Hatteland Display received an order for 290  Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) displays for  installation on the US Coast Guard buoy tender fleet. The United States  Coast Guard (USCG) Command and Control Center located in Portsmouth, VA  selected the company's JH19T14MMD (Maritime Multi Display), and procured  the displays through a contract awarded to CHI Systems of Ft. Washington, PA. The contract was awarded following the issuing by the USCG of a  competitive request for proposal seeking qualified sources for delivery of  ECDIS monitors for its buoy tending fleet of 225' WLB and the 175' WLM  vessels. The navigation and ECDIS installations aboard the buoy tending fleet are  substantial and require Type Approved ECDIS displays.

ECPINS Nav Systems for Brazilian Subs

Offshore Systems Ltd said its sister company, CHI Systems, OSI Geospatial’s US Operations, signed a $925,000 contract with Lockheed Martin’s Undersea Systems business unit to supply the Brazilian Navy with 6 ECPINS submarine navigations systems. These systems will be integrated into Lockheed Martin’s Submarine Integrated Combat Systems (ICS) that will be delivered to the Brazilian Navy.

Coast Guard Chooses ECPINS

Offshore Systems Ltd. announced that its sister company, CHI Systems, the U.S. Systems Operations of OSI Geospatial has recently been awarded a contract to provide the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) with ECPINS navigation systems. The systems will be installed on nine ice breaking tugs (seven new installations and two upgrades to existing units) and one shore base facility. The ECPINS solution comprises of Offshore System’s industry leading software, including specific USCG functionality and hardware components specifically designed for the bridge environment of this vessel class. OSI currently has a U.S. Coast Guard installed base of 34 vessels and this contract will bring the total to 41 vessels.
