Well Intervention System to be Reviewed in Aberdeen
The AX-S system, a world first in light well intervention, will be the topic of discussion at a major oil and gas industry event in Aberdeen next week. Following over £120 million of investment and eight years of research and development, the AX-S well intervention system used remote-controlled subsea tools and was the first technology in this field that could be deployed from a construction vessel and operate in depths of up to 10,000ft. The business which developed the system subsequently went into administration on September 1, 2012, with the loss of 40 jobs.
Haliburton Open New Singapore Facility
Halliburton opens its newly constructed Completion Technology and Manufacturing Center in Singapore. The new state-of-the-art facility is located on about 43 acres in Jurong Industrial Park and includes more than 500,000 square feet (46,451 square meters) of manufacturing and administrative space. The facility includes technology laboratories and test facilities, which house complex processes such as high-alloy material precision machining, electrode discharge machines, small deep-hole gun drilling and fully automated high-pressure testing.
