Panasonic Connectivity Services for TUI Cruises

Panasonic Avionics Corporation (Panasonic) announced that in partnership with its subsidiary, ITC Global, it has been awarded a four-year contract by TUI Cruises for connectivity services to two new-build cruise ships, Mein Schiff 1 and new Mein Schiff 2.The agreement establishes communication capabilities onboard the vessels serving guests and crew, enhancing the user experience during the cruise line's travels across international waters. Speedcast Secures Deal with AMPTC

SpeedCast International Limited announced that it has been awarded a multiyear contract from Arab Maritime Petroleum Transport Company (AMPTC), a provider of maritime transport services of hydrocarbon substances in the Middle East region. SpeedCast will provide satellite network connectivity for AMPTC’s entire fleet of vessels. SpeedCast will provide each AMPTC vessel with end-to-end VSAT services that enable corporate networking, Internet access, voice communications, and crew welfare services.

Farstad Shipping Signs Satellite Communications Contract with Harris CapRock Communications

Five-year contract for SeaAccess solution designed for the commercial maritime market. Solution will provide corporate networking, Internet access and crew morale services. Successful, 5-vessel pilot program provided first-hand experience with SeaAccess service. Harris CapRock Communications, a global provider of fully managed communications for remote and harsh environments, has been chosen by Farstad Shipping to deliver turnkey Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) communications to its fleet of 53 vessels. Farstad Shipping is an international supplier of modern offshore supply vessels that operate in the North Sea, Brazil, Australia and Indian Pacific regions.

Gulf Offshore Selects CapRock VSAT

CapRock Communications announced a three-year contract with Gulf Offshore – a wholly owned subsidiary of GulfMark Offshore Inc. – to deploy its broadband maritime service, SeaAccess Communications, onboard its fleet operating in the North Sea and along the coast of Africa. SeaAccess’ VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) services will enable GulfMark to extend its corporate IT network and applications to its vessels and provide onboard crew morale services. The GulfMark Group operates significant fleets in the North Sea, Southeast Asia and the Americas. Having evolved into a global marine transportation provider focused on the continuous development of its technologically advanced fleet, deploying the always-on VSAT service is a natural extension of its mission.

CapRock Expands in Asia Pacific

CapRock Communications, a global provider of satellite communications to remote environments, has expanded its presence in Asia Pacific by opening a new regional office in Singapore. The expansion increases CapRock’s capability to provide systems integration (SI) services and turnkey satellite communication solutions to energy, maritime and mining clients operating in the region. “CapRock’s clients are continuing to strengthen their operations in Asia,” said CapRock Vice President and General Manager, Southeast Asia, Ian Ford. Intelsat signed a new long term contract for capacity on the IA-6 satellite with CapRock Communications, a leading satellite communications service provider focused on remote industrial markets - including oilfield, construction, maritime, mining, and disaster relief. CapRock has over two decades of experience delivering business class communications, including secure corporate networking and telephony services to companies with operations in hard to reach places. CapRock will provide access to the IA-6 satellite via one of their six international teleports, with fully managed services controlled through their 24/7 global network operations center headquartered in Houston, Texas.
