Euroseas Ltd., an owner and operator of drybulk and container carrier vessels and provider of seaborne transportation for drybulk and containerized cargoes, announced that it signed an agreement to acquire from Dayang shipyard, Hull DY160, an Ultramax drybulk carrier, of 63,500 dwt built 2017. The vessel is expected to be delivered to the Company in January 2017 subject to a successful inspection by the Company by December 27, 2016; it will be acquired for approximately 62% of its contracted price in early 2014. The Company will apply the construction deposits already paid for Hull DY160 and a sister vessel, Hull DY 161, and contribute nominal incremental cash. Following delivery, Hull DY 160 will be named "Alexandros P".

Euroseas Ltd has announced its results for the three and six month period ended June 30, 2016 as well as certain fleet updates. Total net revenues of $7.3 million. Net loss of $19.2 million; net loss attributable to common shareholders (after a $0.4 million of dividend on Series B Preferred Shares) of $19.6 million or $2.42 loss per share basic and diluted. The results include an impairment charge of $14.0 million on our "Investment in joint venture". Adjusted net loss attributable to common shareholders1 for the period was $0.51 per share basic and diluted. An average of 11.4 vessels were owned and operated during the second quarter of 2016 earning an average time charter equivalent rate of $7,373 per day.

SINOPACIFIC Shipbuilding Group held a christening ceremony today at its Dayang Shipyard for a newly built Ultramax CROWN63R. As the Godmother, Madam Grace Yang, the wife of former Chinese Ambassador to Greece christened this new vessel as SINICA GRAECA, which is written in Latin (SINICA means China in old Greek) and symbolizes the great Chinese and Greek cultures. An IMR GPA696 was recently christened and delivered at Dayang Shipbuilding Co. on October 15, 2014, a significant milestone in that the ship is the 200th ship built since the company was founded 10 years ago. MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has won a run of orders for bulk versions of its cargo handling cranes from five Chinese shipyards. The cranes are destined for 15 bulk carriers for various owners. •Two 37,500 dwt bulkers on order at Yangzhou Gouyo shipyard. The vessels will be used to carry logs as well as dry bulk cargoes and will each be equipped with four GLBE3026.2-2/2426.2gr variable frequency drive (VFD)-type marine cranes. The cranes are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2014.

Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group and Marine Capital Ltd (MCL) have entered an agreement for the construction of four Crown 63 bulkers to be built at Yangzhou Dayang Shipyard, China. The deal, which is worth over $100 million, marks another significant step for MCL in its management activity, the compnay said. It is understood the bulkers, a new model of super fuel-efficient ships with the added advantage of significant reduction in CO2 emissions, are destined for MCL’s vehicle Eclipse Shipping and will be operated by MCL in the open market.

Sinopacific's Dayang shipyard in China, contracted to build four advanced specification Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels for Femco Group. The four AHTS’ will have 12240 bhp and 150 tons bollard pull, and are of Sinopacific’s own SPA-150 design to BV class. Main engines, shafts, CPP propellers, thrusters and DP system will be supplied by Rolls-Royce. The rest of the main machinery will be provided by Norwegian and European manufacturers. All vessels will have DP-2 system, two vessels will be equipped with FI-FI 1 and two with FI-FI II and Oilrec systems.

The SINOPACIFIC Shipbuilding Group signed a newbuilding contract of 4 SPP35 platform supply vessels (PSV) and a Letter of Intention of 2 large SPP50 PSVs with SLOK Nigeria Ltd. The six vessels are scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2014. This marks the first time that independently designed offshore supply vessel (OSV) products of SINOPACIFIC direct selling to the African market, signifying the growing maturity and acceptance of the SP brand within the market. Over the past two years, SINOPACIFIC has successfully sold 20 similar vessels. Greenship Holdings, a fully-owned Singapore subsidiary of JACCAR Holdings, has established two separate entities to expand into ship-owning and operating activities in the gas and dry bulk sectors. Greenship Holdings is aiming to own and operate advanced, fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly vessels. Its original commitment, totaling 30 vessels in the gas and dry bulk sectors, with a total investment of around $900 million, has a secured financing structure and will go into operation in full within the next two years. DY4001 is the lead ship of the CROWN 63 series, a series of 63,500-DWT bulk carriers, which recently completed its sea trial items made its return voyage on February 17. According the shipyard, the vessel’s speed trial was proven beyond its design prediction and met all the guarantee. DY4001 was built by Dayang Shipyard, designed by Sinopacific Group Design, is owned by SETAF and is classed by Bureau Veritas. N.E.I. Treatment Systems receives its fifth BWTS type approval certificate from the netherlands, issued with a treatment rated capacity of 6,500 cubic meters per hour. N.E.I. Treatment Systems announced today that the Netherlands has issued a Type Approval Certificate for the Company’s Venturi Oxygen Stripping™ (VOS) Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) with a Treatment Rated Capacity (TRC) of 6,500 cubic meters per hour (m3/hr). The Netherlands is N.E.I.’s fifth Type Approval Certificate, adding to Certificates previously received from Panama, Malta, Marshall Islands, and Liberia. The Netherlands Type Approval was issued in July 2011 following the successful shipboard installation and commissioning of high-capacity VOS BWT systems aboard large Bulk Carriers and Tanker vessels.

By the beginning of 2009, more than half of the 22-vessel GPA 654M Liberty Class 100 PSV series and “Bourbon Liberty 201”, the first of the 54-vessel GPA 254L AHTS series, were delivered at Dayang Shipyard in China.  , The vessels were designed by Naval Architectural and Marine Engineering Firm Guido Perla & Associates, Inc., headquartered in Seattle, WA. Bourbon currently has under construction and in operation more than 100 GPA designed vessels, including PSVs, AHTS vessels, IMR vessels, and ROV-capable vessels.

Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (GPA), said that orders for offshore vessels designed by the Seattle-based Naval Architecture firm have increased by 400% within the past two years. Currently, twenty-one GPA-designed Platform Support Vessels are already serving the offshore industry. These vessels include ten 73-meter GPA 670 PSVs owned by Bourbon Offshore and built at Zheijang Shipyard in China, ten 64-meter GPA 640 PSVs owned by Rigdon Marine and built at Bender Shipyards, and one GPA 654 PSV, also owned by Rigdon Marine and built at Bollinger Shipyard. A major international oil company operating in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico has recently chartered Rigdon’s first GPA 654 PSV that was launched in April of 2007.

According to Thomson Financial, Globus Maritime Ltd has agreed to buy a dry bulk cargo ship, currently under construction at Yangzhou Dayang Shipyard in China, for 57m. The provider of seaborne transportation services for dry bulk cargoes said it will fund the acquisition with a mixture of funds raised from an initial public offering and moderate conventional debt, and that the buy will enhance its earnings and dividends. The ship is expected to be delivered in December and added that its fleet will expand to seven dry bulk carriers.
