Trelleborg Launches New STS Oil Transfer Solution

Trelleborg’s oil & marine hose operation has launched the KLELINE STS oil transfer solution, which is set to upgrade safety and operability standards in ship-to-ship (STS) oil transfer around the world. This solution sets a new benchmark for safe and efficient ship-to-ship oil transfer, inspired by unique floating hose design, qualified to GMPHOM 2009 standard.STS transfer is becoming an increasingly popular option among ship operators and managers, as it allows vessels carrying liquid cargo to transfer offshore.

Trelleborg Names RPS Evans-Hamilton Service Partner

Trelleborg will provide a local presence for onsite marine services in North America, Central America and the Caribbean by appointing RPS Evans-Hamilton as Service Partner for the Docking and Mooring division of Trelleborg Marine Systems for these regions. Under the agreement, RPS Evans-Hamilton will be the sole provider of aftersales services for Trelleborg’s docking and mooring systems. Mixed Messages on Monitoring and Automation Technology

A recent study found that 84% of port owners, operators and contractors said they would expect increased safety to be the primary benefit in specifying an automated system to monitor factors such as mooring line tension, approach speed and environmental conditions, according to a new independent market report by the marine systems business of Trelleborg. However, the majority (60%) of those surveyed only uses human or manual guidance at their facilities both during initial docking and mooring, and to monitor environmental conditions as the vessel continues to berth.
