New E2S System Signals Lifeboat Launch

U.K. signalling manufacturer E2S Warning Signals has designed and developed a bespoke siren system to alert people nearby when an RNLI lifeboat is launching. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is the charity that saves lives at sea. It has 236 lifeboat stations around the coasts of the U.K. and Ireland. Its lifeboats are crewed by specially trained volunteers, who carry pagers. When the pager goes off, alerting them to an emergency at sea, they drop everything and rush to the station to launch the lifeboat.

Guide for Hazardous Areas from E2S

E2S Warning Signals have published a new ‘Guide for Hazardous areas’ which is available as a free download from their website. The guide has been put together with specifiers and hazardous area engineers in mind with matrix tables that enable fast cross-referencing of information between the main certification systems: ATEX, IECEx, North American and Canadian standards. Protection concepts are listed along with applicable zone, class or division and typical equipment protection level in an easy to read format. To download the guide for hazardous areas visit www.e2s.com.

Omni-Directional Output for BEx Horns

E2S has introduced a new option for its market-leading BEx range of explosion proof horns. A new design of output horn turns the sound 90 degrees into a radial, omni-directional pattern without reducing the unit’s sound output levels. Suited to combine horn/strobe units that are ordinarily installed with the strobe at the top and the horn facing downwards so that the sound output is pointing directly at the floor, limiting its range and impact, the BEx combined unit’s the radial horn offers a smaller footprint than the directional one.

E2S has introduced a new option for its BEx range of explosion proof horns. A new design of output horn turns the sound 90 degrees into a radial, omni-directional pattern without reducing the unit’s sound output levels. This is especially suited to combined horn/strobe units that are ordinarily installed with the strobe at the top and the horn facing downwards so that the sound output is pointing directly at the floor, limiting its range and impact. The radial horn offers a smaller footprint than the directional one, allowing the units to be installed in locations where space is restricted.

E2S Launches New Range of Flameproof Audible Signals

The GNEx range of flameproof audible signals is the first series of products to be launched from E2S’s exciting new range of cost effective GRP signaling devices. The Ex d IIC coded GNEx range is manufactured from glass reinforced polyester (GRP) which is a competitive alternative to stainless steel offering equivalent protection from corrosion in offshore applications. The enclosures are molded red but can be supplied in custom colors. With temperature ranges of -76°F to +158°F and approval for Zone 1 and Zone 2 the new GNEx signals are suitable for the harshest of environments.
