ELA Container Offshore GmbH delivered an offshore office container to Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC), a marine contractor in the international offshore oil and gas industry. The container was placed on board semisubmersible crane vessel (SSCV) Thialf and was used as a control room to operate their anchor winches. The Thialf is HMC's largest SSCV, capable of a tandem lift of 15,600 tons. Its two cranes provide for a depth reach lowering capability as well as a heavy lift capacity to install topsides.

Offshore managed to deliver all required containers from scratch in only 3 months from project kick-off, including design and development up to turnkey delivery on an offshore converter station in the German North Sea. “To come up with the best suitable container type, especially for Offshore Windfarms, we sat together with our customer, DNVGL and German authorities, who are responsible for the German “Arbeitsstättenrichtlinien (ASR)”, to create a new generation of container type”, says Hans Gatzemeier, Managing Director of ELA Container Offshore GmbH.

ELA Container Offshore GmbH said it has delivered two offshore living quarters to Belgium based G-Tec Offshore s.a. The containers were placed on board of the multipurpose drilling vessel MV Omalius off the coast of France. The solution on deck turned out to be very successful as the units have also been used for other projects since then. Currently the MV Omalius is working in the construction phase of the Merkur wind farm, located approximately 45km north of the islands of Borkum, Germany where GeoSea, Belgian Deme Group’s ’s specialist will realize the construction of Merkur Offshore.

ELA Container Offshore GmbH delivered an Offshore Living Quarter to Netherlands based SeaMar Services BV in Den Helder. The container was placed on board the Offshore Support Vessel ‘SeaMar Splendid’ and provided extra accommodation for subsea work in the North Sea. “We decided to hire an A60 ELA Offshore Living Quarter with DNV 2.7-2 offshore certification as SeaMar standards demands quality and all rental of additional high critical equipment need to comply to all local and international legislation on- and offshore”, says Sybrand Spijksma, Technical Superintendent at SeaMar Services BV. In October 2014 Pronomar shared news about its cooperation with German based company ELA Container Offshore GmbH and developing the concept of drying containers. Following a collaboration at Offshore Energy in Amsterdam, the companies team up again for EWEA in Copenhagen, Denmark from March 10-12, 2015. The ready-to-plug-in 20-foot offshore drying container will be showcased, including the installed Pronomar drying systems.
