Elcome, Miros Ink Distribution Deal

Elcome International LLC signed an exclusive sales and service agreement with Miros AS, the Norway-headquartered wave, current and oil spill monitoring specialist.The partnership expands the distribution of Miros’ comprehensive range of sea state sensor and measurement solutions to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, namely UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar.Miros’ portfolio of sea state measurement solutions provides accurate, real-time data for weather-sensitive operations at sea, as well as offering input to asset integrity systems and coastal monitoring.

Elcome Opens Algeciras Office

Elcome Completes Satcom Switchover for LNG Tanker Fleet

Elcome International said it has completed a satellite communications retrofit program for a major fleet of liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers providing broadband data and voice services. “Our team decommissioned the existing VSAT systems and installed new SAILOR 900 antennas and below-deck systems on 40 ships within four months. Most of the installations were performed at sea, and the others were made at ports in eight different countries,” said Jimmy Grewal, executive director of Dubai-based Elcome International.

Elcome Opens Calibration Lab and Repair Facility

Elcome International has established a new calibration lab and electronics component repair facility at its worldwide headquarters in Dubai. The calibration and electronics repair services are operated by Navicom Calibration LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elcome. Navicom is providing a full range of calibration and certification services for critical portable instruments and fixed systems. The operation is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by the Dubai Accreditation Center and the quality management systems are certified by DNV GL to ISO 9001:2008.

Elcome Supplies Electronics for Abu Dhabi New Builds

Elcome International is supplying electrical switchboards, safety, monitoring and control systems for three vessels under construction at Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB). INTERSCHALT maritime systems GmbH, a provider of services for communications, navigation and bridge equipment and the maker of voyage data recorder systems, has expanded its service network in South America through the addition of ITEC Electronica Maritima S.A.S, Colombia, and Telnav Telecomunicacoes Navais, Macaé, Brazil. As authorized service partners, ITEC and Telnav Telecom will from now on perform the installation, commissioning, retrofitting and maintenance of INTERSCHALT VDR systems as well as conduct annual VDR performance tests (APT) in accordance with IMO regulations.

Elcome Scores Service Agreements in the Middle East

Marine technologies and system integrator Elcome International has signed fleet service agreements with two major ship operators in the Middle East, the company announced today. Elcome will provide shore-based maintenance and service for navigation, automation and electrical systems for 45 crude and product tankers operated by a Dubai-based shipping company under a three-year contract. The scope of work will include periodic inspections, performance and health checks, routine overhauling and repairs. In addition, Elcome has signed an annual maintenance agreement for navigation and communication systems for 20 ships operated by an Abu Dhabi-based shipping company.

Elcome Branches out in the Middle East and Asia

Elcome International, supplier of turnkey solutions for marine electronics, electrical and safety systems for the world maritime industry, has invested in a expansion of its maritime service network with the opening of new facilities in Egypt, Sri Lanka and Singapore. “We are aggressively growing our service and support footprint with Elcome factory-trained technicians and spare parts now available at more than 20 strategic ports from Suez to Singapore, as well as flyaway service on a global scale,” said Surjit Singh, Deputy General Manager – Customer Support of Elcome International. Danelec Bags Multiple VDR Orders in Middle East

Danelec Marine, along with distribution partner Elcome International, is to supply Danelec DM100 Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs) for 14 ships in the Middle East.   The new VDR orders include seven new offshore support vessels (OSVs) and five tanker retrofits for an oil and ga companies based in Abu Dhabi. In addition, Elcome has recently completed retrofit of Danelec DM100 VDRs on two tankers of a major Danish shipping company.   Introduced in 2014, Danelec Marine’s DM100 VDR complies with all the latest IMO and IEC performance standards, and incorporates Danelec’s exclusive SoftWare Advanced Protection (SWAP) technology for ease of shipboard service as well as built-in cyber protection technology.

Elcome Enters Sales, Service Deal with JRC

Elcome International has signed a distribution agreement with Japan Radio Company (JRC) and its technology partner Alphatron Marine. Under the agreement, the Dubai-based company will take on responsibility for sales and service of JRC and Alphatron Marine products in the Middle East, India and Sri Lanka. Elcome will also carry out annual performance tests for JRC Voyage Data Recorders and Simplified Voyage Data Recorders. JRC is providing training for Elcome engineers at its Center of Excellence in Rotterdam, as well as at Elcome’s headquarters in Dubai.

Elcome Equips Water Desalination Barge in Saudi Arabia

Elcome International, the marine solutions provider and system integrator in the Middle East and one of the largest marine technology suppliers in the world, recently completed replacement and upgrade of a 15 MW electrical distribution and automation system on a water desalination barge. The vessel, Bowarege 2, is a rapidly deployable barge-mounted reverse-osmosis desalination plant owned and operated by International Barges Company (IBC) for water desalination in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Built in 2008, Bowarege 2 has capacity to produce 25,000 cubic meters of potable water per day. A major fire ripped through the barge and totally destroyed the barge’s accommodation block (which housed the switchgear room) and three of the nine genset containers. Goltens Co.
