ABB's Shaft Generator System for Northern Lights CO2 Carriers

ABB will deliver the shaft generator system with permanent magnet technology for the first dedicated CO2-storage vessels ever to be built. Wärtsilä to Power LNG-fueled RoPax Ferry

A ferry being built for Sweden’s Rederi AB Gotland will be fueled by LNG, featuring a Wärtsilä integrated solution which includes a complete LNG powered propulsion- and fuel storage and supply system, as well as comprehensive project services. It will be the first Swedish flagged LNG powered passenger vessel and the first LNG-fuelled high speed RoPax ferry in the world. The vessel will be built at the Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) yard in China and when delivered, will sail between the Swedish mainland and the island of Gotland. GSI placed the contract with Wärtsilä in November.

U.K. Mariner Platform Contract for Odfjell Drilling

Statoil has awarded the contract for drilling services on the Mariner platform on the U.K. continental shelf to U.K.-based Odfjell Drilling. Odfjell Drilling will perform drilling services, maintenance of the drilling facility and drill pipe logistics for the Mariner field development, with options also on the Bressay field development. Casing, tubing running services and modifications to the drilling facility is also optional in the contract. The contract duration is four years from November 2016 plus 3x2 years options. The contract has an estimated value of GBP 160 million.
