Liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker barge Clean Canaveral completed its first barge-to-ship bunkering of a cargo vessel at Port Canaveral’s South Cargo Berth 4. JAX LNG, along with Polaris New Energy, handled the LNG refueling of the Damia Desgagnés on the ship’s inaugural call to Port Canaveral. The asphalt/bitumen tanker Damia Desgagnés completed her discharge of cargo and then JAX LNG proceeded with Desgagnés’s first barge-to-ship bunkering of LNG. The Clean Canaveral, a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker barge operating along the coast of the southeastern United States, recently completed its inaugural bunkering in Jacksonville, Fla. The Clean Canaveral has a capacity of 5,500 cubic meters, making it the largest Jones Act LNG bunker barge. The vessel operates as an articulated tug barge unit (ATB) and is owned by Polaris New Energy LLC, a subsidiary of Seaside LNG Holdings.The operation marks the first barge-to-ship cool down performed in the United States.

Puget LNG and GAC Bunker Fuels have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) marine fuel from Puget LNG’s terminal to GAC’s customers in the Pacific Northwest.When the Tacoma LNG Terminal becomes operational in the second quarter of 2021, it will be the first such terminal on North America’s west coast providing direct shoreside loading access for a bunker barge.GAC Bunker Fuels, a division of the Dubai-based GAC Group, will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Jones Act-compliant LNG bunker barge to be constructed…

GAC Bunker Fuels says it has further consolidated its position in the North Sea by appointing Per Steffen Bolstad to the bunker trading team in Bergen, Norway, where he joins bunker trader Christer Benjaminsen. GAC Bunker Fuels says it has appointed former GAC Denmark Shipping Assistant Ida Ryberg as a Bunker Trader with its UK team. Ryberg joins Andy Boichat and Resham Rai at the London office and will also work closely with Kenny Petrie in Aberdeen, Murray Bishop in Southampton and Dimitra Maniati focusing on the superyacht sector from the sailing hub. GAC Bunker Fuels and its local partner in Sri Lanka, Interocean Energy (IOE), have moved the bunker barge MT 'Kandy' to Galle to meet growing demand for bunker supplies at the port on the southern tip of the island nation. Thanks to its proximity to international east-west shipping lanes, Galle is a popular choice for vessels taking on supplies. For more than two decades, the GAC Group has taken advantage of that strategic location, with its Ship Supply base at Galle with a fleet of twelve craft serving ships passing off port limits (OPL). GAC Bunker Fuels unveiled plans to relocate the headquarters of its global bunker fuel services to Dubai under the new company name, GAC Bunker Fuels Ltd.
