Inmarsat Type Approval for 9502 BGAN M2M Terminal

Inmarsat said that that it has expanded its Machine-to-Machine (M2M) portfolio by type approving the Hughes 9450-C11 terminal, the first mobile BGAN M2M-enabled terminal. It means that BGAN M2M — Inmarsat’s global, IP-based, real-time M2M data connectivity service — can now be offered as a mobile service, giving customers within industries like transportation and logistics, precision farming, construction and mining a completely new level of remotely managing and monitoring high value assets, such as heavy machinery. “We are excited about Inmarsat’s new mobile BGAN M2M capability and the Hughes 9450-C11 terminal,” said David Wigglesworth, Vice President, Global Internet of Everywhere.

Schneider Announces New Esprit SE IP Networked Camera System

Schneider Electric released its Pelco Esprit SE IP Integrated PTZ Camera System including both standard and pressurized models for video surveillance and IP network connectivity. Built upon the Esprit SE positioning system platform, the system now features dynamic window blanking, auto tracking, internal scheduling clock, electronic image stabilization, and multilanguage menus – all formerly reserved only for high-speed domes. Designed and built for continuous use featuring an integrated camera and lens, pan-and-tilt unit, multiprotocol receiver, and Sarix-based H.264 encoder, Esprit SE IP offers dynamic remote positioning capabilities and is capable of remaining completely operational in up to 90 mile-per-hour wind conditions.

Global IP Extends Mobility Offering with Intelsat

Global IP to introduce Ku-band maritime services to oil, gas and energy customers across the vast Indian Ocean region. Intelsat S.A., a  provider of satellite services, announced today that Spain-based Global IP, a provider of satellite communications for maritime, energy and corporate customers, has signed multi-year agreements allowing it to provide broadband service to its maritime customers in the Indian Ocean region. Global IP will use capacity on Intelsat 22 at 72° East, Intelsat 702 at 33° East, and the IntelsatOneSM terrestrial network to introduce advanced mobility services. Global IP will collocate its DVB-S2 high-throughput platform at Intelsat's teleport in Fuchsstadt, Germany, enabling access to the IntelsatOne infrastructure and Intelsat's satellite fleet.

Consilium and Orange launch Current At Sea, a paperless maritime navigation and communication solution. Consilium and Orange Business Services are modernizing maritime communications with the launch of a paperless navigation solution that extends an Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) over the world’s largest MPLS-based network. First FB150 Installation, Tug Miclyn Enterprise

Inmarsat (LSE: ISAT), provider of global mobile satellite communications services, announced the first installation of the FleetBroadband 150 (FB150) service onboard tug Miclyn Enterprise. The installation of the SAILOR 150 FleetBroadband system was managed by Thrane & Thrane’s Certified Partner, Jason Electronics, at the Jalan Brigjen Katamso shipyard in Batam, Indonesia. Installation aboard Miclyn Enterprise, a multipurpose offshore support vessel owned by Miclyn Express Offshore, was completed in 15 minutes, and the first email sent and telephone call made within the hour. The FleetBroadband service is the first maritime communications solution to provide cost-effective broadband data and voice, simultaneously, through a compact antenna on a global basis.
