Sonsub Extends HOS Innovator Vessel Contract

In order to continue to serve ongoing client projects in the Gulf of Mexico, Sonsub extended its long term vessel charter with Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC for the HOS Innovator DP II Vessel for the 2005 season. HOS Innovator -- having worked for Sonsub for almost four years -- equipped with a heavy duty workclass Innovator ROV, has been utilized on several significant projects in the Gulf with works including mattress installation, touchdown monitoring, pre and post lay survey, pod change outs and a variety of other construction related activities.

Sonsub’s HOS Innovator Completes First Year

Sonsub’s versatile 240 ft., Class II DP vessel, the HOS INNOVATOR, has completed a its first year of operations in the Gulf of Mexico. During this time the HOS INNOVATOR had no LTI’S (Lost Time Incidents) and held 321 safety/toolbox meetings. These accomplishments are the result of dedicated personnel, technically superior equipment and the help from our established, long-term partners. The vessel, permanently outfitted with a 200 Hp INNOVATORâ ROV and a 36 ton, 75 ft. box boom crane, has assisted with some of the largest projects in the Gulf of Mexico. The HOS INNOVATOR spread has thus far performed tasks including pre-lay pipeline route inspections, pipeline crossing mat installations, pig pushing operations and wellhead change-outs.

Sonsub Awarded Contract From Global Industries

Sonsub is pleased to announce they have been awarded a 1-year preferred provider agreement with Global Industries to provide forROV and ROV//DSV services to support Global’s projects in the Gulf of Mexico. Sonsub’s first project under the agreement will be to provide touchdown monitoring and ROV intervention support with the HOS Innovator vessel and Triton 27 ROV system. Triton 27 will be mobilized onboard the “Hercules” lay-barge to monitor the pipe from the pipe at the stinger output, while the INNOVATOR®9 ROV system onboard the HOS Innovator, will perform touchdown monitoring and other required ROV intervention tasks.

HOS Innovator Vessel Crew Completes 200,000 Man Hours

Sonsub’s HOS Innovator vessel crew recently completed 200,000 man-hours with no Lost Time Incidents (LTIs). Since it began working for Sonsub in 2001, the vessel has been involved with jumper installation, flying lead installation, mattress installation, touchdown monitoring, pre and post lay survey and a variety of other construction related activities. Additionally, Sonsub has also recently extended its contract for the vessel for another year.

Hornbeck Offshore Delivers HOS Innovator

Hornbeck Offshore Services Inc. of Mandeville La. delivered its first Classed DP II PSV, HOS Innovator, for service. Leevac Industries of Jennings, La. constructed the vessel to Hornbeck's design. Upon delivery, the vessel began a three-year charter with Sonsub Inc. of Houston, Texas as a multi functional ROV Support Vessel. Measuring 240 x 54 x 18 ft. (73.1 x 16.4 x 5.4 m), this vessel is the first of six DP II classed vessels to be delivered to Hornbeck Offshore during the next eight months. The latest of the HOS "New Breed" has been uniquely engineered to offer numerous advantages over existing tonnage in the U.S flag fleet. The unique hull form assists in making the Innovator a very DP capable and fuel-efficient vessel.

Saipem Awarded Concrete Mattress Installation

Saipem America has been awarded the pre-crossing mattresses installation of the 20 in. Shenzi Oil Export Pipeline Project by Enterprise Field Services, LLC. The Shenzi Field development is located in 4,400 ft. of water, approximately 120 nautical miles offshore, in the Gulf of Mexico. Scope of work includes the installation of over 250 concrete mattresses for the pre -lay phase of Enterprises’s new 83 mile export pipeline in a water depths ranging from 435 to 4,325 ft. deep. Saipem America will be utilizing the HOS Innovator and the InnovatorÒ ROV to perform the transportation and installation of the Company provided concrete mattresses in multiple mobilizations. The project is expected start in early September with a completion deadline by November 1, 2007.

U.S. Flagged HOS Mystique Available

The HOS Mystique, Saipem America’s new 250-ft class II DP ROV support vessel is currently mobilized in Fouchon, La. and available for work immediately. The HOS Mystique is a U.S. Flagged, Class II DP ROV support vessel with a healthy 4,354 sq ft of usable deck area and a permanently installed 70 ton active heave compensated NOV knuckle-boom crane. Eight Vessel Order Signals Good Times are Back in GOM?

Hornbeck-Leevac Marine Services, Inc. announced today that its Board of Directors has approved a new vessel construction program for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC. This is the company's third such program since its inception five years ago - the first two were seven and six vessel programs, respectively. The current plan is to build eight additional state-of-the-art, deepwater OSVs, with construction of four 240-ft. DP-2 Class vessels to commence as soon as a definitive agreement has been signed with the selected shipyard. The company has signed a letter of intent for the first four vessels with one of the shipyards currently constructing vessels for Hornbeck and, therefore, anticipates prompt contract execution.

Hornbeck Offshore Largest Supply Vessel

Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. (NYSE:HOS) has introduced the HOS Centerline, a Jones Act qualified, 370-ft multi-purpose support vessel (MPSV) to its fleet. This HOS 370 design, with an 8,000+ deadweight-ton capacity represents the largest and most diverse DP-2 classed offshore supply vessel available today. The HOS Centerline is the only vessel in the world to have received certifications by the United States Coast Guard allowing operations as a supply vessel, industrial/construction vessel and as a petroleum and chemical tanker. The HOS Centerline was added to Hornbeck's fleet in February 2009 and achieved its multi-certifications under Subchapters “L’, “I”, “D” and “O” in October, 2009.

Big Month for VT Halter’s Hornbeck OSV Series

VT Halter Marine, Inc., a subsidiary of Vision Technologies Systems, Inc., announced four separate shipbuilding milestones for the Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) Super 320 Program underway for Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. Firstly, VT Halter Marine delivered HOS Captain on July 10. Five days later, VT Halter Marine hosted the christening ceremony of HOS Crestview held at the Pascagoula facility and launched HOS Caledonia at the Halter Moss Point facility on July 15. Finally, delivery of HOS Clearview took place on July 28.

Local Yards Start to Feel the Impact

The U.S. Gulf of Mexico region is again poised to prosper, spurred by the buzz of activity surrounding the oil patch, and specifically the renewed vigor with which companies will explore and develop deepwater fields for the production of natural resources. Though the resumption of business at "full throttle" has taken perhaps a bit longer than many observers would have initially predicted, particularly given the continued high price of oil and gas and the "pro" oil industry political team occupying the White House, it is a safe bet that, at least for the next several years, the offshore oil business will ensure that the marine business in the GOM region is a prosperous one.

Accommodation and Features are Key for Offshore Housing

Deepwater operations are increasingly demanding more personnel offshore, often for longer periods of time, placing a greater emphasis on crew accommodation. Now accommodation and special features join safety as the key components for a new range of comfortable, large-scale offshore housing vessels. Emerging in this range is Hornbeck Offshore Services’ HOS Achiever, a ship perceived as relatively normal offshore multipurpose vessel. What’s unique about HOS Achiever, though, is what she accomplishes.

Bollinger Awarded Six OSV Conversions from Hornbeck

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. has been awarded a contract by Hornbeck Offshore Services (HOS) to convert six (6) 200 class DP1 offshore supply vessels (OSV’s), to 240 class DP2 OSV’s. The announcement was made by Bollinger executive vice president, Ben Bordelon, who said, “We are very pleased to announce the award of the HOS Super 200 conversion program. The news of the conversion program was announced by HOS on September 4th 2012, saying they have decided to implement a retrofit program to stretch and upgrade six 200 class DP-1 OSVs into 240 class DP-2 OSV’s.

Hornbeck Completes $114M Sale of OSVs to U.S. Navy

Hornbeck Offshore Services has closed the sale of three 250EDF class OSVs to the U.S. Navy, the company announced today. The three vessels were sold for cash consideration of $114 million, the company reported. This is expected to result in a gain on sale of assets of approximately $33.0 million ($20.8 million after-tax or $0.57 per diluted share). The HOS Arrowhead, the HOS Eagleview and the HOS Westwind have been supporting the Navy's submarine fleet on the east and west coasts since they were constructed in 2008 and 2009.

ESG Holds HOSMAX Double Launch Event

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. held its third HOSMAX Double Event in Panama City, Florida. On Friday, October 24, 2014, the christening and subsequent launching of the HOS Brairwood (Hull 210) the 10th HOSMAX launch in 20 months, followed with the same day delivery of the HOS Black Watch  (Hull 208) both for Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC. The launch event was held at Eastern’s Allanton facility with hundreds of Eastern employees and guests in attendance with an afternoon of perfect weather and launch conditions.

Vessels: HOS Bluewater Delivered by Leevac

On March 16, 2003, Hornbeck Offshore Services (HOS) took delivery of the HOS Bluewater from LEEVAC Industries LLC. The vessel was delivered to Hornbeck Offshore two weeks ahead of schedule and immediately began a term charter for an unnamed operator. The HOS Bluewater is the first of four deepwater OSV's that will be delivered to Hornbeck Offshore by year's end. Designed by and built for Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC, the HOS BLUEWATER is the company's seventh DP-2 vessel. HOS Bluewater measures 240 x 54 x 19-ft. The latest of the HOS "New Breed" has been uniquely engineered to offer numerous advantages over existing tonnage. The unique hull form assists in making the Bluewater a very DP capable and fuel-efficient vessel.

Eastern Launches Second HOSMAX 310 Vessel

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. announced the launching of the HOS Black Foot (Hull 206) on Friday January 17, 2014 for Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC. The HOS Black Foot is Eastern’s second vessel in Hornbeck Offshore’s HOSMAX 310 class series. The launching event was held at Eastern’s Allanton facility with hundreds of Eastern employees and guests attending, including Naval Architecture students from the University of New Orleans, La. who were visiting the shipyard. Attending from Hornbeck was Carl G. Annessa, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
