Dublin Get Kalmar AutoRTG Cranes

The cargo handling solutions and services provider, Kalmar has concluded an agreement with Dublin Ferryport Terminals (DFT) to extend the Kalmar AutoRTG system at the terminal with two new AutoRTG cranes.The order was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q2 order intake, with delivery of the machines scheduled to be completed during Q2 of 2020, Kalmar, part of Cargotec, said. Part of the container and terminal division of Irish Continental Group, DFT operates the most modern container terminal at Dublin Port, with an annual throughput of approximately 380,000 TEU. The order forms part of DFT's ongoing investment programme focused on ensuring the terminal is equipped with the latest technologies to support future growth.

Kalmar Bags Eurogate Order

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is to deliver two rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) to EUROGATE, Europe's leading shipping line-independent container terminal operator, for use in their Tanger S.A. terminal in Morocco.The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 Q3 order intake, with delivery scheduled to take place during Q3 of 2019. The EUROGATE Tanger container terminal is conveniently located on the Strait of Gibraltar in Morocco, making it the ideal transhipment hub for the western Mediterranean, Africa and South America.With a quay length of 812 m, a terminal area of 400,000 m² and a water depth of up to 18 m, the facility is well-equipped to handle the new generation of container ships. All RTGs currently operating at the terminal have been supplied by Kalmar.

Kalmar STS for Curaçao Port Services

Kalmar, part of Cargotec has signed a contract for supplying two Kalmar Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes, including related spare parts, to Curaçao Port Services, said a press release.The Panamax size cranes will be used for modernising the customer's container handling operations at the Willemstad Container Terminal in Curaçao. The order was booked into Cargotec's 2018 third quarter order intake, and the delivery is planned to be completed by the end of 2019. The island of Curaçao is located strategically in the Southern Caribbean approximately 35 miles off the northwestern coast of Venezuela. The Port of Willemstad is the main and largest port of the island. Currently, Curaçao Port Services B.V.

Kalmar RMGs to Support Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract with Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals (RST) to supply two Kalmar rail-mounted gantry (RMG) cranes with remote control and extensive customisation. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake. The first crane will be delivered in Q4 of 2019 and the second during Q1 of 2020. Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals, located in the Port of Rotterdam, is the largest short sea shipping hub in Europe, with over 320 employees working around the clock to process over 800,000 containers each year. Kalmar to Send Five RTG Cranes to DCT Gdansk Terminal

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a deal with Deepwater Container Terminal (DCT) Gdansk to supply a total of five electrically powered rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) with extensive customisation. The order, which also includes the supply of a spare parts package for the machines, was booked in Cargotec's 2018 first quarter order intake and delivery is scheduled to take place in early 2019. DCT Gdansk is Poland's largest and fastest growing container facility, and the only deep-water terminal in the Baltic Sea region with direct ocean vessel calls from the Far East. The terminal has an annual throughput capacity of 3 million TEUs and its operating area covers 74 hectares.

Kalmar Introduces Electrical Shuttle Carrier

Cargotec continues to develop its range of Kalmar straddle carriers with an environmental focus. The latest addition to the product range is the Electrical Shuttle Carrier, ESH W, which provides higher productivity with lower emissions. Ilkka Annala, Vice President of Kalmar Straddle Carriers, Cargotec said, “With our original Kalmar Shuttle Carrier we revolutionised quayside productivity in mega-terminals by eliminating waiting times with decoupling of vessel and yard operations. In addition to increasing terminal productivity, our customers are now building more sustainable operations. This need triggered the launch of our new Electrical Shuttle Carrier, the ESH W, for manual or fully automated operations.
