The Maritime And Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore has stripped marine fuel services provider Inter-Pacific Petroleum (IPP) of its bunker craft operator licence in the port of Singapore, effective immediately.Inter-Pacific will not be allowed to operate tankers used to load marine fuel, known as bunker fuel, onto ships in the Port of Singapore, MPA says in a statement.As part of MPA’s ongoing efforts to ensure the integrity of bunkering in Singapore, checks were conducted on Inter-Pacific earlier this year.MPA’s checks and subsequent investigations revealed magnetic interference affecting measurements of bunkers supplied in numerous Mass Flow Meter readings across Inter-Pacific’s fleet of bunker tankers.Inter-Pacific had also failed to ensure that its employees…

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE)  has won a new order in India from ReNew Power, India's large largest renewable energy independent power producer (IPP), for the supply of 270 SG 2.1-122 wind turbines with a total capacity of 567 MW.The agreement is one of the largest announced in India and will see Siemens Gamesa provide the infrastructure needed to install and operate two wind power facilities, 127 SG 2.1-122 wind turbines for the project in Bhuj, Gujarat and 143 SG 2.1-122 wind turbines for the project in Davanagree, Karnataka, respectively.Both projects are expected to be commissioned by the first quarter of 2020. The dry bulk operator Oldendorff Carriers sold the three remaining self-unloaders still operating in the CSL Pool for US$100.5 million to Algoma Central Corporation.CSL International Pool is a partnership between Oldendorff Carriers, Marbulk Shipping Inc. and Algoma Shipping Inc.The vessels -Sophie Oldendorff (70,037 tdw built 2000), Harmen Oldendorff (66,188 tdw built 2005) & Alice Oldendorff (50,259 tdw built 2000) -  are expected to deliver to Algoma around the middle of 2019.All three vessels have been trading in the CSL Pool on the East Coast of North and South America since they were built. Shipments of oil products from a Russian Black Sea outlet have been disrupted since early February due to a row over the port's control, four industry sources told Reuters on Wednesday. Three sources said oil products shipments from the IPP terminal at the port of Novorossiisk have been delayed over a managerial conflict. The port did not reply to a written request for comment. According to the sources, between 1,000 and 2,500 rail cars with oil products are stuck near the port waiting to be loaded on to tankers. Trading sources also said that loading operations of two tankers - Andromeda, chartered by Litasco, and Trafigura's Atlantas II - have been cancelled. "Ships have been waiting in the harbour of Novorossiisk," a trader said.

The world's top producers of liquefied natural gas (LNG) are investing in ship-fuelling operations, floating import terminals and power plants to open new markets and keep from drowning in a fuel surplus expected to last into the next decade. Companies such as Royal Dutch Shell, Total and Malaysia's Petroliam Nasional Bhd are scrambling to create demand as cheap coal and cleaner wind and solar power threaten to curb growth in the 250 million-tonnes-a-year LNG market. LNG suppliers have been put in a tough spot as demand from the world's top importers of the past few decades, Japan and South Korea, has declined due to slowing economies, more efficient use of power, and switches to coal and renewables.

Foster Wheeler AG announced today that BHI Co., Ltd., a licensee of its Global Power Group, has been awarded two contracts for Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) in Asia. BHI offers HRSGs, pulverized coal (PC) boilers, circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers and oil and gas boilers all utilizing Foster Wheeler’s proven technology. A contract by Mitsubishi Corporation was awarded to BHI for the design and supply of four HRSGs for the 240 megawatt Bangpoo cogeneration power plant in Thailand, which is scheduled to be on-line by third quarter 2016. Additionally, BHI received a contract from Daewoo Engineering & Construction for the design and supply of two HRSGs for the Pocheon 940 megawatt combined-cycle power plant IPP project in South Korea.

Germanischer Lloyd presents an Approval in Principle (AiP) certificate to TECHNOLOG for the IPP designed STREAM range of 3,000 TEU to 5000TEU ships. The design of the STREAM 4200 LNG’s 32.25-metre beam allows passage through the existing Panama Canal locks. A draft of 10.50m to 12.00m means the vessel can operate worldwide, including the Kiel Canal (future dimensions) between the Baltic and North Sea. The entire vessel design concept is focused around saving energy. A single screw is directly driven by a dual-fuel, two-stroke, 22.9 MW engine developed specifically for LNG applications by MAN.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced final awards totaling $445m in grant programs that strengthen the ability of ports, transit, and intercity bus systems to prevent, protect against, respond to and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies. The awards are part of the fiscal year (FY) 2007 Infrastructure Protection Program (IPP), which has provided nearly $2 billion in grants to strengthen critical infrastructure facilities and transportation systems. Funding was directly allocated in January as part of the IPP to Tier I Transit grants, the Buffer Zone Protection Program and the Trucking Security Program.
