Grace Retires from NASSCO

General Dynamics NASSCO announced the retirement of Janice S. Grace, its senior vice president of operations, on June 30. Grace, 55, had served as the shipyard’s second-ranking executive since February 2004. "This shipyard is indebted to the significant contributions and outstanding leadership of Janice Grace," said Frederick J. Harris, president of General Dynamics NASSCO. "She is a pioneer in our industry and for this shipyard. She has left her mark on the shipbuilding that will take place here well into the future." As senior vice president of operations, Grace was responsible for all production, engineering, materials, master planning and information systems activities at the shipyard.

NASSCO Appoints Three New Vice Presidents

National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) has appointed new Vice Presidents of Human Resources, Finance and Production Outfitting. NASSCO is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). Donald H. Dame has been named Vice President – Human Resources ; he will report to Harris. Dame has over 30 years of human resources business experience. For the last seven years, he has been Vice President of Human Resources and Government Relations for Freeman Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, headquartered in Springfield, Ill. Dame holds a degree in Mining Technology from Rend Lake College in Ina, Ill. and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

NASSCO Announces Management Promotions

Janice Grace has been appointed to the new position of Vice President, Pre-Production Operations at National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO). Grace will assume responsibility for engineering in addition to her current responsibilities in materials, master planning/facilities, and information systems. Stephen Streifer, the vice president of engineering, has announced his retirement. Stephen Stroebel has also been promoted to the Director of Materials, and will report to Grace.
