DNV GL Assists John Laing in Horath Onshore Wind Farm
DNV GL, the world largest resource of independent energy experts, has assisted John Laing, a leading international originator, investor and manager of infrastructure projects, in its investment in the onshore wind farm Horath Wind Farm in Germany. DNV GL conducted technical due diligence on the new asset with a focus on verifying its estimated energy yield. The work follows on from a long collaboration between the two companies, including DNV GL’s due diligence support work for John Laing’s recent acquisition of the 89.1 MW Klettwitz Wind Farm, one of Germany’s largest onshore wind farms. The Horath Wind Farm is located in the Rhineland-Palatinate area of south-western Germany.
DNV GL Backs John Laing on First Offshore Wind Investment
DNV GL successfully completed its due diligence work of the offshore wind farm “Nordergründe” in the North Sea, reviewing and quantifying the technical risks of the project. The John Laing Group commissioned DNV GL with the assessment and analysis of the project to make its investment decision and has announced its 30% stake acquisition of the wind farm. “Nordergründe” is the first offshore wind investment for John Laing, the exchange-listed and internationally active company is specialised in infrastructure projects. Through DNV GL’s independent technical and planning evaluation, the John Laing Group received a realistic assessment for the shareholding in the offshore project with 18 wind turbines.
Keppel hands over Runcorn Energy-from-Waste Facility Phase 2
Keppel Seghers Belgium N.V. and Keppel Seghers UK Limited (collectively, Keppel Seghers) have handed over Phase 2 of the Runcorn Energy-from-Waste (EfW) facility, in the UK, to the client. Runcorn EfW comprises two phases of equal capacity. Phase 1 is owned by INEOS Runcorn (TPS) Limited (TPSCo), a joint venture between INEOS, Viridor and John Laing. Phase 2 is owned by Viridor EfW (Runcorn) Limited, a special purpose vehicle owned by Viridor Waste Management Limited. Keppel Seghers handed over Phase 2 to the client on 24 April 2015 after successfully completing a 30-day reliability test. Earlier this year on 18 January 2015, Phase 1 was completed and was handed over. Both phases are operated by Viridor.
