Brandy Christian is New Port of New Orleans COO

Current COO Patrick J. Gallwey to Retire in March After 34 Years. Brandy D. Christian has been named the new Chief Operating Officer of the Port of New Orleans by President and CEO Gary LaGrange, succeeding Patrick J. Gallwey, who will retire March 1 after 34 years with the Port. Christian comes to the Port after 14 years with the Port of San Diego serving for the past five years as vice president, strategy and business development. During her tenure with California’s fourth largest cargo port, Christian was the driving force behind securing major accounts for the cruise and cargo business lines at the Port. She was also instrumental in significantly improving operational processes and reducing costs for the public agency.

GWMC Appoints Strand and New Board Members

Goltens Worldwide Management Corp. (GWMC) has announced the appointment of Roy Strand as Chief Operating Officer. Strand has previously served as the Vice President of Operations in the Americas and Europe, and will continue to serve as the Advisory Board Chairman within the Goltens Worldwide group of companies. Prior to joining Goltens, Strand held various managerial and global executive positions in the professional services field, including at KPMG Consulting, Netegrity and Computer Associates.

KPMG To Provide Program Management Support To NAVSEA

KPMG Consulting, Inc., announced that it will provide long term program management support to the Naval Sea Systems Command's (NAVSEA) Undersea Weapons Program Office. KPMG Consulting teamed with Anteon Corporation, a leading information technology and engineering solution company, to win the delivery order, which was competed under a multiple award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. KPMG Consulting will be paid $5.7 million for the first year and could receive up to $48.7 million if all options are exercised and award terms are earned and retained. Every day, about 17,000 cargo containers enter U.S. ports, yet only one or two percent of them is routinely inspected. Since Sept. 11, government officials and global supply chain experts have been focusing on vulnerabilities and potential solutions to help ensure that weapons of mass destruction are not concealed in international cargo shipments.
