MSHIPCO Exploring Strategic Options
MSHIPCO has engaged Global Capital Markets Inc. (GCMI), a middle market M&A investment bank with global reach to advise on corporate strategic options including sale, licensing or other transactions. As creator of the M80 Stiletto, which employs MSHIPCO’s proprietary M-hull technology, MSHIPCO’s designs have redefined naval military movement on the water, the company said. By applying creative design to physical science, its Rapid Empirical Innovation (REI) platform abbreviates…
SF Marina USA Dock for U.S. Navy Stiletto
When the United States Navy required a heavy-duty dock to moor its state-of-the-art M80 Stiletto, it worked with SF Marina USA. The resulting 82-ft floating SF 1230 Concrete Dock can perform in the harshest marine conditions. Designed for conditions at the Little Creek Amphibious Base in Norfolk, Va., as well as its future location at NAS Norfolk, the SF 1230 Concrete Dock is engineered to handle extreme wind, tides and waves. Constructed from reinforced concrete and Styrofoam, it offers unmatched strength, stability and buoyancy.
M Ship Aim: Safer Vessels for Special Ops
The San Diego-based company received $2m in Congressional funding that will allow USSOUTHCOM to rapidly field an operational demonstrator for the evaluation of a shock-mitigating craft. The craft will feature an advanced hull design and will be constructed of advanced composite materials to reduce operational injuries and lower procurement risk. “M Ship’s advanced hull research has demonstrated significant reduction of human exposure to accumulated spine stresses and repetitive impact injuries of personnel aboard high-speed military craft…
M Ship Gets $6M Contract
M Ship Co. has been awarded a $6 million contract to build the M80 Stiletto, an advanced technology demonstration craft. It will be used by the Department of Defense to validate high speed, smooth ride quality and stealth characteristics of the company’s patented M-hull design and explore the scalability of dynamic lift technology. The lightweight carbon fiber composite craft will demonstrate special operation capabilities by launching and retrieving an 11-meter RIB, a 36-foot auxiliary craft for Navy Special Forces. It also will launch and operate unmanned vehicles.
M. Ship Launches Experimental Vessel
M. Ship Co. launched the M80 Stiletto, designed as an operational experiment for the Pentagon's Office of Force Transformation (OFT) and an example of the next generation of military vessels that combines new materials (carbon fiber), with a networked architecture and a revolutionary hull. The M80 Stiletto initiative is part of OFT's Wolf PAC Distributed Operations Experiment, conducted in association with USSOCOM, to explore command and control of geographically dispersed, but networked, autonomous and semi-autonomous military forces. This new concept of operations by the Department of Defense is in response to diffuse threats that are perceived as emerging in the future.
