Chevron Tanker Receives ABS SMART-MHM Notation
ABS and Chevron Shipping Company LLC have embarked on a digital fleet management journey.As a first step, the Suezmax lightering vessel Pegasus Voyager has become the first vessel in Chevron’s fleet to qualify for the ABS maintenance optimization notation SMART-MHM (Machinery Health Monitoring), with more vessels expected to follow. The ship is also the first ABS-classed to receive the notation.ABS says this is just the beginning of the journey to condition-based maintenance for the Chevron’s fleet of 28 vessels.

Lines (MOL) has introduced ClassNK Consulting Service’s condition-based monitoring (CBM) system ClassNK CMAXS e-GICSX on the M/V Taranaki Sun, marking the system’s first commercial application. The ClassNK CMAXS e-GICSX CBM system first collects large amounts of voyage data, including weather and sea conditions and machinery data collected from multiple sensors installed on electronically controlled main diesel engine. ClassNK Begins Testing CBM System
ClassNK has commenced verification tests of its next-generation condition-based monitoring (CBM) system ClassNK CMAXS e-GICSX for Mitsui’s MAN B&W engines.
