Ocean Signal Unveils E101V Float-Free EPIRB

The new Ocean Signal E101V float-free EPIRB with integrated voyage data recorder (VDR) memory capsule is designed according to the latest VDR performance standards as a leading solution for commercial vessels of 3000+ gross tonnage. Developed in collaboration with VDR specialist AMI Marine, the E101V is Cospas Sarsat and MED certified and approved to IEC61097-2 as a float-free EPIRB with built-in memory capsule. Enabling ship owners and operators to meet new mandates for VDRs as defined by IMO Resolution MSC.333(90), the Ocean Signal device can be easily integrated with a vessel’s VDR, a vital on-board system which helps to identify the cause of any accident…

Marine communications specialist Ocean Signal and VDR manufacturer AMI Marine will introduce a new float-free EPIRB with integrated voyage data recorder (VDR) memory capsule at this year’s SMM in Hamburg. The Ocean Signal E101V provides a reliable and innovative solution for commercial vessels of 3000+ gross tonnage to store recorded data in a float-free capsule within their VDR systems, as required for compliance with the revised recommendation on performance standards for VDRs. Radio Holland, Thome Ship Management Ink MSA Deal

Radio Holland in Singapore has signed a Managed Service Agreement (MSA) with Thome Ship Management that will cover nine vessels for four years. Thome Ship Management, headquartered in Singapore, has worked for many years with Radio Holland, which is part of Imtech Marine, but until now this has largely been on an ad hoc basis. Officially signed on June 1, the agreement covers a pool of nine chemical oil tankers of around 45,000-50,000 dwt on a 24/7 basis. The MSA covers the maintenance of marine electronic equipment including navigation, communication, automation and IT equipment. The contract includes everything from annual radio surveys to servicing bridge equipment, to the delivery of spare parts and on-the-spot troubleshooting.

Scottish SME Goes Global

Aberdeen-based MarineMTS has signed a supply and support deal with a Greek manufacturer of marine electronic equipment. The deal will see MarineMTS supplying software to Intermarine Electronics, which provides marine electronic equipment to a multi-million pound global market, and also to the Greek Naval Fleet. Intermarine will use Microplot 7, an exclusive product developed by MarineMTS, in its own-label ECDIS products (Electronic Chart Display and Information System). As well as providing the proprietary software product, the deal will see MarineMTS provide support and maintenance services to Intermarine over the next 10 years. The Microplot range of software is the product on which MarineMTS was founded, and to which the business owns all the rights.

Seatronics do Brazil, an Acteon company, appoint Thiago Montanari as sales manager. Montanari is based in Rio de Janeiro and will report directly to Seatronics vice president, Fabio D’Agostino. Montanari has six years of experience in the offshore industry, working extensively in the Caspian (Kasakhstan), Mediterranean, Adriatic and Caribbean (Cuba) seas, as well as in Angola, Patagonia and Libya. Montanari will be responsible for maturing existing relationships while growing and developing global business opportunities with existing and potential clients.
