Ocean Safety to Supply Complete RNLI Liferaft Fleet

U.K. independent marine safety equipment supplier Ocean Safety was selected by the RNLI to carry out a wide reaching replacement program for all their current liferafts in an operation that will take up to three years. The Ocean Safety ISO liferaft will become the liferaft of choice on every RNLI all weather lifeboat, following a rigorous selection program in which Ocean Safety had to produce innovative solutions to the RNLI’s requirements to exceed their own high safety standards for their fleet of vessels.

Ocean Safety Debuts Exposure Torch Range

U.K. independent marine safety equipment supplier, Ocean Safety, will be showing its range of torches from Exposure Marine at Seawork for the first time. Exposure’s torches are already being used by organizations like the Norwegian Sea Rescue Association (NSRA), proving their fitness for the scrutiny of commercial maritime professionals visiting Seawork. Exposure Marine initially developed torches for the professional mountain bike market, and this led them to produce torches which are incredibly powerful, superlight and corrosion resistant, and therefore ideal for marine conditions.

3M Novec Gas Sea-Fire Extinguishers Debut at Seawork

U.K. independent marine safety equipment supplier Ocean Safety will debut the latest range of fire extinguishers from Sea-Fire at Seawork. The range, which was introduced earlier in the year, is the 3M Novec 1230 NDF and NFG Series. Novec introduces a safer gas which is less harmful than other types of gas if used in enclosed compartments such as small engine rooms. Sea-Fire's pre-engineered NFD and NFG systems are automatically heat-activated, using 3M Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid.

Ocean Safety Promotes Business Development Manager

The UK’s largest independent marine safety equipment supplier, Ocean Safety, has made a key promotion with the appointment of Mandy Boughton as Business Development Manager. Mandy will take on the role, newly created in response to the company’s continued growth, of developing new business  and assisting the Sales Director in future strategy and policies across the market sectors. With a BSC in Yacht Manufacturing and Surveying Mandy has worked in the marine industry for 20 years. She was previously Ocean Safety's Sales Office Manager.

Ocean Safety Signs Contract With SurvitecZodiac

U.K. marine safety equipment supplier, Ocean Safety, has agreed a three year UK service and distribution agreement with SurvitecSAS to supply the full range of SOLAS products including liferafts from 6-151 persons, evacuation systems, slides and rescue boats. The contract confirms Ocean Safety’s long-established relationship with SurvitecZodiac as the largest UK distributor. “This is the logical step for Ocean Safety,” comments Sales Director Mark Hart. “This development further strengthens our close relationship with SurvitecZodiac.

Ocean Safety Opens Office in Aberdeen

The UK’s largest independent marine safety equipment supplier, Ocean Safety, has opened a fourth depot in the UK, this one in Aberdeen, in the heart of the oil and fisheries industry on the east coast of Scotland. The depot will carry the full range of Ocean Safety stock. It will also be a lifejacket and survival station, and will be manufacturer-approved for that purpose. “Establishing the new depot reflects the growing business of Ocean Safety and the customer demand from the expanding offshore renewables market,” said Ocean Safety’s Sales Director, Mark Hart. The Aberdeen depot will be managed by Aidan Morrissey, who already has many years of experience with safety products in the commercial maritime industry.

The UK’s largest independent marine safety equipment supplier, Ocean Safety, has just completed a chilly training session to safety authorities in Iceland in conjunction with the company’s Iceland service agent Sónar EHF, to demonstrate vital life saving equipment manufactured by the company. Andy Bracewell, Export  Manager at Ocean Safety, led a team which demonstrated the capabilities of the Kannad SafeLink R10 AIS Survivor Recovery System (SRS) to service technicians at Sónar EHF, based in Reykjavík.

Pamarine Black Box for Ships

Marine safety equipment supplier Pamarine launched its Blu Veritas Voyage Data Recorder (VDR). Similar to black boxes fitted on the aircraft, the Voyage Data Recorder collects data on board vessels so that it can be examined in the event of a shipping accident. With the launch of the Blu Veritas Voyage Data Recorder, the company plans to expand its global distribution footprint to Brazil, Greece, Norway, Korea and Australia. The Blu Veritas VDR is designed in accordance to the requirements specified in IMO A.861 (20), and fully complies with standards as outlined under IEC 61996, IEC 60945 and IEC 61996-2. 1. An optional removable memory stick to facilitate data archiving and retrieval.
