Damen Wins Order to Build Vessel for Taiwan Offshore Wind Market

Japan-based Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, (MOL)  and Taiwan-based Ta Tong Marine Co. have through their joint venture Ta San Shang Marine Co. Ltd. (TSSM), signed a deal with the Dutch shipbuilder Damen Shipyards for the construction of a new service operation vessel (SOV).As TSSM's second Taiwan-flagged SOV, following Asia's first, the TSS Pioneer, which was delivered in 2022, the vessel is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2025 in Vietnam. MOL Hosts Family Day for Seafarers

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) group seafarer manning company Magsaysay MOL Marine (MMM) held a Family Day for Filipino seafarers at an amusement complex in Manila, drawing about 3,250 seafarers and their families.MOL also held a long-service awards presentation ceremony for Filipino seafarers who work for MMM in Manila. MOL Chairman Koichi Muto, MOL Senior Managing Executive Officer Akihiko Ono, MOL Managing Executive Officer Masanori Kato, and executives of MOL group's ship management companies attended both events.Family Day was held at an amusement complex in Manila, drawing about 3,250 seafarers and their families. MOL Holds Graduation Ceremony for Filipino Seafarers

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines announced the graduation of 88 students in the sixth class of the "3rd Year Program," which MOL introduced with the goal of developing crewmembers who will uphold strict safety standards in vessel operation. The 3rd Year Program targets new seafarers from among third-year students at partner maritime schools in the Philippines. MOL provides education and training at the Magsaysay Institute of Shipping (MIS), its training center in the Philippines. Lines, Ltd. today announced the graduation of 105 students in the fourth class of the "3rd Year Program," which MOL introduced with the goal of developing crewmembers who will uphold strict safety standards in vessel operation. The 3rd Year Program targets new seafarers from among third-year students at partner maritime schools in the Philippines. MOL Assists South African Primary Education Initiative

A Panel of MOL's cutting-edge hybrid car carrier "Emerald Ace" ,which carried eight mobile library vehicles last year, was presented to South African Ambassador in Japan Her Excellency Mohau Pheko by MOL Senior Managing Executive Officer Takashi Kurauchi.

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. said it plans to assist nonprofit organization South Africa Primary Education Support Initiative (Sapesi-Japan) with the ocean transport of mobile library vehicles to the Republic of South Africa. This marks the fourth time since 2009 that MOL has contributed to this initiative. MOL previously transported 32 vehicles, and in this phase, it will transport six more. Those will be transported by MOL's car carrier, Sunshine Ace, which departs Japan at the end of May, and is scheduled to arrive at the Port of Durban at the end of June.
