Wind Turbine Simulation Solution by MSC Software

U.S. based MSC Software announces the 2012 version of its Advanced Wind Turbine Modeling (AdWiMo) solution. AdWiMo allows rapid modeling and accurate system simulation of wind turbines. As a plug-in to Adams, the multibody dynamics analysis software from MSC, the new version of AdWiMo fully supports the new Adams 2012 interface and better addresses areas of the certification process for wind turbines. Design validation and certification of wind turbines is mandatory in almost all countries and is essential to designing a mechanically reliable wind turbine. Certification involves the testing of operation and safety concepts as well as design loads and load calculations. As part of a certification, more than 1,000 simulation runs may be necessary.

Napa, ABS Team on Safehull Express

The ongoing collaboration between Napa Ltd and ABS has culminated in the recent release of a new version of SafeHull, called SafeHull Express. SafeHull Express is used for the design and assessment of ship structures in accordance with the ABS rules. The new and upcoming versions of ABS SafeHull Express are based on NAPA technology and functions, developed through cooperation between Napa Ltd and ABS Americas. The joining of forces has resulted in the integration of a complete initial strength assessment system into the shipyard production process. This is the first time such integration has been achieved. The fundamental benefit of integration is that a single 3D ship model can be used consistently in various system environments, which makes the design-to-production process one continuum.

Fincantieri Chooses SimEnterprise Solutions

MSC.Software said that Fincantieri Cantieri Navali Italiani S.p.Ahas adopted and will standardize on the company's new SimEnterprise technology across all company sites and their extended supply chain. With typical development cycles not exceeding 36 months and including a 12 month design phase, Fincantieri and MSC.Software jointly undertook a detailed program of evaluation, aimed at rationalizing the simulation environment and significantly reducing the overall design-to-manufacture process. This included a full process assessment and an extended visit to MSC.Software's Solution Studio and the delivery requirements mapped to the functionality of MSC.Software's new enterprise simulation environments.
