Petrogas Extends Maersk Resolute Contract

Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V. has exercised an option with Danish driller Maersk Drilling to extend the current contract of jack-up rig Maersk Resolute in the Dutch sector of the North Sea.The contract extension is for one well, A15 on the Dutch continental shelf, with an expected duration of 21 days.The exercised option extends Maersk Resolute’s confirmed work scope into March 2019.The high-efficiency jack-up Maersk Resolute, which was launched in 2008, re-started operations in the Dutch sector in June 2018, after it was originally reactivated from warm-stacking and worked in the sector from June to December 2017.Maersk Resolute is currently on a rig-share contract between Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V., TAQA Energy B.V.

Maersk Drilling Bags 2 North Sea Contract Extensions

Maersk Drilling has been awarded contract extensions for the high-efficiency jack-up rigs Maersk Resolute and Maersk Resolve by Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V. and Wintershall Noordzee B.V., respectively. The extensions allow the two rigs to continue their high-performance operations in the North Sea. Maersk Resolute has been awarded a 56-day contract extension by Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V., continuing its work in the Dutch Sector of the North Sea where it has drilled multiple wells since commencing operations in June 2017. During the campaign, Maersk Resolute has drilled the shallowest horizontal gas well in the A&B area, something Petrogas has noted as a great achievement while also praising the high operational standard of Maersk Resolute.

Maersk Drilling Bags North Sea Contracts

Keppel Secures $130 mln in Projects

Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) has, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Keppel FELS Brasil S.A. and Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard), secured projects from repeat customers, Petrobras and SOFEC Inc. (SOFEC) respectively, worth a combined value of approximately S$130 million. Keppel FELS Brasil's BrasFELS shipyard has secured hull carry over work for the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit P-69 from Tupi BV (a consortium formed by Petrobras Netherlands B.V., operator with 65%; Shell with 25%; and Petrogal Brasil with 10%), which is represented by Petrobras. The additional work scope on P-69 includes the installation of equipment and cables for the hull as well as the commissioning of marine systems.

Petrogas Hires jack-up Maersk Resolute

Maersk Drilling has been awarded a new contract with Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V. for the High Efficiency jack-up, Maersk Resolute. The firm contract covers the drilling of the two wells, A8 and A9 in the A12 block of the Dutch continental shelf. The drilling of the two wells is estimated to have a duration of 75 days. Furthermore, an option to extend the contract for up to five additional wells exist. Operations are expected to commence in June 2017 in the Dutch Sector of the North Sea. “I am very pleased that Maersk Drilling has been able to secure a new contract for the jack-up, Maersk Resolute. Despite the current market situation, Maersk Drilling continues to be able to build on its contract backlog.

Emergency Towing Vessel Contracted for Scotland

The U.K. Government’s Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) has awarded a five-year contract for a new Scottish Emergency Towing Vessel (ETV) to Ardent Maritime Netherlands BV, to begin on December 31, 2016. The ship is the Ievoli Black, a 70-meter towing vessel of some 2,283 gross metric tons and a bollard pull of 139 metric tons, capable of firefighting operations, anchor handling, towing, research and underwater services. The Marnavi-owned Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel is experienced in ETV operations, having served as an ETV for the Netherlands from 2010 to 2013.

Heavy LIfting: Moving Modules for Brazilian FPSO

On April 6, Mammoet, a service provider specializing in engineered heavy lifting and transport, completed a load-out of the first set of four modules bound for the FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) P66 vessel. This is the first of eight FPSOs currently under construction for oil production in Brazil. The end client, TUPI BV, is a consortium composed of Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV, 65 percent), the British Gas Group (BG Group, 25 percent) and Galp Energia S.A. (10 percent), working on the ongoing development of the Lula Alto field, located in the Santos Basin, Brazil.

The Netherlands Maritime Technology association has been officially launched on the international stage during the Holland Day at SMM on September 9. Sjef van Dooremalen, Chairman of Netherlands Maritime Technology, unveiled the new name onboard the LCF Zr. Ms. Evertsen in Hamburg to an audience of 250 guests. A new promo video about the Dutch maritime technological sector was also shown. On a national level, the association, company and foundation for the maritime technological sector have been operating under this new joint name since May 8, 2014.

Hydrex, Wärtsilä Partner for Subsea Repair

Last month a Hydrex diver/technician team carried out underwater stern tube seal repairs on a 110-meter offshore supply vessel in Bunbury, Australia. The rope guard covering the stern tube seal assembly was missing and the seal box had come loose after a mooring rope got tangled around the assembly. An emergency on-site repair was necessary. Hydrex therefore mobilized a diver/technician team to the vessel’s location and was able to carry out the entire operation on-site and underwater. This operation saved the owner an expensive and time-consuming trip to drydock.

Peter De Vos Appointed Marine Propulsion Course Trainer

The ninth edition of the international HME Marine Propulsion training series starts in September. It will be a new experience for Peter de Vos, Assistant Professor of Marine Engineering at Delft Technical University (TU Delft). As the latest addition to the team, De Vos will work closely with Professor Douwe Stapersma in modules 1, 3 and 5. Peter De Vos graduated cum laude in 2008 on the modeling of a fuel processing plant for the application of fuel cells onboard vessels in the Ship Design, Production and Operation section of the Marine Engineering department at TU Delft.

FPSO US$674-million Contract for Sembcorp Subsidiary

Sembcorp Marine’s subsidiary Jurong do Brasil Prestacao de Services Ltda (JDB) awarded FPSO module contract by Tupi B.V. The contract is for the construction of a total of 8 modules and module integration works for 2 Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSO) P-68 and P-71 from Tupi B.V., a consortium owned by majority shareholder Petrobras Netherlands B.V., together with BG Overseas Holdings Ltd and Galp Energia E&P B.V. As part of the agreement, Tupi B.V. has a similar contract option to construct 4 modules and modules integration for a FPSO to be exercised within 18 months of the contract signing. Under the contract, the FPSOs P-68 and P-71 will have identical work scopes, comprising the fabrication of 4 modules for each FPSO and module integration works.

Keppel FELS Brasil Secures US$200 million Contract

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through its subsidiary Keppel FELS Brasil, has secured a contract worth approximately US$200 million from MODEC and Toyo Offshore Production Systems Pte Ltd (MTOPS), a joint-venture company established in Singapore by Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO) and MODEC, Inc. The contract is for the fabrication and integration of topside modules for the Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO) Cidade de Mangaratiba MV24 at Keppel FELS Brasil's BrasFELS yard in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Scheduled to be completed by 2Q 2014, the FPSO will have a daily production capacity of 150,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and storage of 1,600,000 barrels of oil.

Wärtsilä to Power European Inland Waterway Newbuilding

The contract includes the supply of two 6-cylinder Wärtsilä 20DF dual-fuel medium-speed engines. The new dry-cargo carrier will be part of the 'ECO2 Inland Vessel' project, which is focused on developing innovative measures for making the inland shipping sector more economically and environmentally sound. A transition to liquefied natural gas (LNG) is widely viewed as being one of the most realistic options for significantly reducing the environmental footprint of marine transportation. This will be the first ever medium speed, dual-fuel, mechanically driven inland waterway vessel capable of operating for 95-99 percent of the time on LNG fuel, with a minimum of pilot marine gas oil (MGO) used for ignition. The engines are also capable of operating fully on MGO.

Keppel Clinches Petrobras & Saipem Contracts

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through Keppel Shipyard Limited (Keppel Shipyard) and Keppel Verolme BV (Keppel Verolme), has secured two contracts worth a total of about $165m. The first project, secured by Keppel Shipyard from repeat customer Petrobras Netherlands B.V (PNBV), is for the pre-conversion of P-58, a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel for the Campos Basin. The second project involves the repair and modification of the semisubmersible pipelay vessel, Castoro Sei for Saipem S.p.A (Saipem) by Keppel Verolme.

Petrobras Signs $775m Rig Deal

The consortium of FELS Setal SA, a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) in Brazil, and Technip Engenharia S/A (Technip), an affiliate of Technip S.A., has been awarded the P-52 contract from Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV). Recently signed was a$775 million contract to build the semi-submersible production platform. Delivery of the floating production unit is due in 41 months for possible deployment in the Roncador field, a deepwater location of the Campos Basin, off the north coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The project involves the detailed engineering, procurement and construction of an 180,000 bpd semi-submersible production platform capable of operating in water depths up to 1,800 m.

FELS Setal Clinches $775M Contract

The consortium of FELS Setal SA, a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) in Brazil, and Technip Engenharia S/A (Technip), an affiliate of Technip S.A., has been awarded the P-52 contract from Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV). The signing ceremony of the US$775 million contract to build the semi-submersible production platform was witnessed by Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the presence of more than 1000 guests at FELS Setal’s Brasfels Yard. Delivery of the floating production unit is due in 41 months for possible deployment in the Roncador field, a deepwater location of the Campos Basin, off the north coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Island Oil & Gas Wins Q13b Exploration License

Island Oil & Gas Plc. said it has won the Q13b exploration licence from the Dutch government, valid for five years. The minister of economic affairs of the awarded the license to Island Netherlands B.V., a wholly owned unit of Island Oil, and , the designated operator, will hold a 100 percent working interest in the license. Island Oil intends to split the license into a shallow (oil) and deep (gas) part, with Island Oil operating the shallow part with a 100 percent interest and Cirrus Energy Nederland B.V. operating, on behalf of its partner Petro-Canada Netherlands B.V., the deep part in which Island Oil will have no equity interest. Keppel/Technip Consortium to Deliver P-51 to Petrobras

The consortium of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd  and Technip Engenharia S/A is on track to deliver the P-51 floating production unit (FPU) to Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV) by November 2008. This 48,000 tonne FPU is the second such rig that the consortium partners have completed. The first rig, the P-52 FPU, is currently producing in the Roncador field. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of and First Lady Marisa Letícia Lula da Silva who was the Lady Sponsor, were at Keppel FELS Brasil’s BrasFELS shipyard yesterday to witness the christening. They were joined by some 5,000 Brazilian workers who also celebrated the achievement of the national project.

Radio Holland Testing ASP LRIT for Dutch

Radio Holland Netherlands BV has been appointed by the Dutch Transport and Water Management Inspectorate (Inspectie Verkeer en Waterstaat), as Testing ASP for Dutch, Dutch Antilles and Aruban flag vessels, per November 1 2008. The first successful LRIT (Long Range Tracking & Identification) test resulted in the issue of the first “Statement of Conformity/LRIT Test Conformance Report” for the Dutch vessel ms. Alexandergracht of Spliethoff’s Bevrachtingskantoor in Amsterdam. Since then Radio Holland performed more than 150 LRIT Conformance Tests. A Testing ASP (Application Service Provider) is appointed by the national flag Administration, and is licensed to issue the official LRIT documents, after performing a successful LRIT test.
