International Marine Contractors Association Suspends Russian Members

Swiber Wins Big Latin America EPIC Contract

Construction & support services provider to the offshore oil and gas industry, Singapore's Swiber Holidngs, says it has won an Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Construction (“EPIC”) contract in Latin America for subsea development work including pipeline tie-in work, with an aggregate value of US$80-million. The project will commence immediately and is expected to complete in 2015. PD&MS Energy Secures Contract Extension

PD&MS Energy has been awarded an offshore contract extension for engineering work on Fairfield Energy’s North Sea assets. Following an initial three-year contract, the options will see the Aberdeen-headquartered firm provide engineering, procurement and offshore construction services for an additional two years from May 2014. Swiber Wins Siazable Offshore Contracts

Offshore construction & services provider Swiber wins SE Asia & Latin America contracts worth altogether about US$ 143-million. The contracts comprise an approximate US$100 million contract for offshore construction work in Southeast Asia; and an approximate US$43 million contract for the charter of a construction vessel that will be deployed to Latin America this year. Work for the US$100 million contract is expected to commence in Q1 2013 with expected completion by Q3 2013. Ranger Offshore Gains DNV Certification

Provider of offshore construction services, US-based Ranger Offshore, Inc., obtains various ISO Det Norske Veritas (DNV) certificates. Ranger Offshore has obtained ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO/TS 29001 certifications which are ecognized as the global benchmark for providing assurance about the ability to satisfy quality requirements and to enhance customer satisfaction. Each of the certifications attests to the implementation and adherence to various processes and management systems. The ISO 9001:2008 standard addresses the effective use of a Quality Management System (QMS), while the ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards relate to the processes, activities, and procedures of Environmental Management System (EMS) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), respectively.

Imtech, Seaway Heavy Lifting Sign Maintenance Deal

Imtech Marine’s Advanced Support Agreements, which include 24/7 remote Monitoring & Maintenance, are raising interest among ship owners. Recently, Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) signed a support contract for a second crane vessel. St. Johns Ship Building Launches OSV

St. Johns Ship Building Launches 157’ OSV for Caribbean Market. St. Johns Ship Building of Palatka, Fla. launched the Sea Strength, a 157’ offshore service vessel (OSV) for A. R. Singh Contractors Ltd. The vessel will be the largest in the A. R. Singh Contractors Ltd. fleet and will expand the company’s reach into the Caribbean offshore market. The Sea Strength is expected to be delivered February 2012. The Sea Strength is a twin screw vessel powered by two Caterpillar C32 marine type engines rated at 850 horsepower each at 1,800 RPM with Twin Disc reverse-reduction gears.

Horizon Offshore Announces Award of Southeast Asia Award

Horizon Offshore, Inc. announced that P. T. Gunanusa Utama Fabricators of Indonesia recently awarded its subsidiary, P. T. Horizon Offshore Indonesia, a subcontract to perform offshore construction services in connection with a project for TotalFinaElf in Southeast Asia. Services provided by P. T. Horizon Offshore Indonesia will include project management, pre- and post-lay surveys and the installation and burial of a twenty-inch pipeline offshore Balikpapan, Indonesia.
