Keppel to Upgrade KrisEnergy Production Barge
Singapore's Keppel Offshore & Marine said its wholly-owned subsidiary Keppel Shipyard has secured a contract worth about S$30 million (US$21.8 million) for the modification and upgrading of a production barge for SJ Production Barge Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of compatriot upstream oil and gas company KrisEnergy.Keppel Shipyard's scope of work includes installation of a power generation module, electrical house, new accommodation units and other refurbishment works. Bumi Armada Bags Additional Contract from Lukoil
Bumi Armada Bhd’s wholly-owned unit, Bumi Armada Caspian LLC, has signed a supplementary agreement worth RM576 million (USD 134 million) with Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft LLC (Lukoil) for an additional engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) scope of work in Russia. Back in December 2013, Bumi Armada had bagged a 10-year, US$262 million contract from Russia’s Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft Ltd. Bumi Armada said the additional scope will involve BAC’s marine spread to lay subsea pipelines and undertake post trenching and back-filling works on sections of the Filanovsky field in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea. Keppel Acquires Cameron's Rig Business
Singapore's Keppel Offshore & Marine (KOM), via subsidiary, Keppel Offshore & Marine USA has inked a deal with Cameron International Corporation, a US-based oil and gas solutions provider, to acquire its offshore rigs business for US$100mln. This segment is made up of Cameron's proprietary LeTourneau jack up rigs designs, its rig kit business, and aftermarket services. The LeTourneau jack up rigs designs have been popular with certain market segments and will help Keppel expand its suite of jackup rig offerings, Keppel said in a statement. Under the agreement, a new subsidiary known as "NewCo" will be 100%-owned KOM USA, which houses the offshore rig business.
Liquid Robotics, Schlumberger Form Oil & Gas Joint Venture
Liquid Robotics, Inc. and Schlumberger announced the creation of Liquid Robotics Oil & Gas, a joint venture to develop services for the oil and gas industry using Wave Gliders, the world’s first wave-powered, autonomous marine vehicles. The joint venture will combine Liquid Robotics Wave Glider technology with Schlumberger oil and gas expertise and industry knowledge to integrate and deploy new solutions for customers worldwide. Liquid Robotics and Schlumberger have equal ownership of the joint venture.
