Palfinger Chooses NAMJet Waterjets
Netherlands-based Palfinger Boats has launched the first of two Damen-designed FRSQ 1200 fast-rescue/oil response vessels. Built in Harderwijk, Netherlands, the 12-meter (40-foot) vessel is powered by dual 440-horsepower (hp) Yanmar diesels mated to twin NAMJet TJ431 HH waterjets. Designed to be carried aboard larger ships as a “daughter-craft,” the 9.6-ton vessel’s primary mission is oil spill response, which will make exceptional use of the vessel’s 4.1-ton bollard pull capacity.
Palfinger Secures Follow-up Order from Sentinel
Palfinger Boats, Palfinger Ned-Deck and their partner Outreach Ltd. have secured a follow-up order from Sentinel Marine Ltd. The delivery of Sentinel Marine Ltd's fast rescue and aluminum daughter crafts order for four emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRVs), led to the company's announced letter of intent (LOI) for Outreach to be involved in the sale of an additional four ERRV ship sets. Both davits from Palfinger Ned-Deck are fitted with a wave compensation system enabling safe launching and recovery in the extreme conditions of the North Sea.
