IOOC Launches First PIMS

India to Lead Asia New-Build Pipeline Growth

India is expected to lead Asia’s oil and gas new-build trunk/pipeline length additions, contributing around 53 percent of Asia’s planned and announced pipeline length additions between 2019 and 2023.According to a report from GlobalData, India is expected to have new-build pipeline length of 23,360.6 km by 2023.Varun Ette, Oil and Gas Analyst at GlobalData, said: “In India, 42 new-build pipelines are set to start operations by 2023, out of which 29 are planned and remaining 13 are from early-stage announced pipelines. Denmark OKs Nord Stream 2 Project

Nord Stream 2 is 75% Complete

The Nord Stream 2, export gas pipeline running from Russia to Europe across the Baltic Sea, is 75% complete, the project's operator, Nord Stream 2 AG, said in a statement.A total of 1,855 kilometers of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline were built along the bottom of the Baltic Sea in the waters of Russia, Finland, Sweden and Germany. That's about 75 percent of the total length of the pipeline, the release said.Both strings have already been completed in German territorial waters and Finnish waters. Pipelay is currently ongoing in Russian territorial waters. At the landfalls in Germany and Russia, construction works have reached an advanced stage.All pipes needed for the twin pipeline system have been concrete weight coated.

TurkStream Terminal Nears Completion

Gazprom’s Turkish Stream (TurkStream), the natural gas pipeline running from the Russian Federation to Turkey, has been 95% completed."Construction progress of the receiving terminal for the TurkStream Offshore Gas Pipeline has reached 95%. All works are in line with the schedule. Nord Stream's Last Pipe Leaves Sweden Port

The last Nord Stream 2 pipe stored within the premises of the port of Karlshamn left the storage area. Russia’s  Nord Stream 2 AG is the operator of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project.Nearly 39,000 pipes have transited through the port since October 7, 2017. Out of these, almost 37,000 pipes have been shipped to the pipelay vessels working on the Swedish section of the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline. The surplus has been transported back to the port of Mukran in northern Germany.Wasco Coating Germany GmbH was in charge of the logistics operations in the port of Karlshamn during this 23-month long period.Up to 140 people worked for the Nord Stream 2 project during the peak period in the port of Karlshamn, when operations went on around the clock.

MDL Wins Equatorial Guinea Pipelay Work

Maritime Developments (MDL), a provider of back-deck equipment for the subsea sector of oil and gas industry, has been awarded a contract to supply a complete pipelay spread and personnel for a flexible installation offshore Equatorial Guinea.The award comes from a new client, whose work scope covers the launch of a number of new wells in an existing network of drill centres in the West African basin, MDL said.The MDL spread will consist of the MDL Horizontal Lay System (HLS), delivered with a 4-track pipelay tensioner; an MDL Second-generation Reel Drive System and MDL’s integrated Track and Cradle System.The project is due to commence in Q3 this year and will be MDL’s fourth campaign in West Africa in 2019.

ASCO Ships Lay Cable for Absheron Gas

Balticconnector Offshore Pipeline Completed

Trelleborg Wins Elastopipe Contract

DNV GL Wins Baltic Pipe Project

The international oil & gas advisory and classification society DNV GL has won a major contract to provide independent verification services for the Danish transmission system operator Energinet’s section of the Baltic Pipe project, offshore Denmark.The Baltic Pipe project aims to enable the transport of gas from Norway from a tie-in to the existing Europipe II in the Danish North Sea to the export facility in Zealand. The pipeline in the Baltic Sea towards Poland is not included in the contract. Petrobras Sells TAG, Gets $8.7 bln

Brazilian state-run oil firm Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has concluded the sale of gas pipeline system Transportadora Associada de Gás S.A. US Oil Production Up, Needs More Pipelines

The rising domestic crude oil production in the United States has created a need for more pipeline capacity, revealed the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).EIA recently launched a new liquids pipeline projects database that tracks more than 200 crude oil, hydrocarbon gas liquids (HGL), and petroleum products pipeline projects."Rising domestic crude oil production has led to several changes in Gulf Coast crude oil supply and demand patterns, creating a need for more pipeline capacity," it pointed out.Crude oil pipeline capacity additions originating in the Gulf Coast region represent most of the scheduled pipeline capacity growth over the next few years.

Solitaire on Nord Stream 2 Job in Russia

Allseas-owned pipelay vessel Solitaire has started laying the first line of the Nord Stream 2 twin gas pipeline in Russian waters.Solitaire will spend about a month constructing one of the two  approximately 100-kilometres-long sections in the Russian territorial sea.Solitaire, operated by Allseas, is a 300-metres-long and 41-metres-wide dynamically positioned vessel that will lay pipes around the clock seven days a week. It accommodates up to 420 people on board.A vessel that is positioned using thrusters instead of anchors helps to minimise the impact on the environment and marine traffic, as only the pipeline itself touches the seabed along the pipeline route.The activities are performed in accordance with the national permits granted by responsible authorities.
